Some info: 92 Hatch, KA24de, bought it a few months ago knowing the motor was blown.
Issue: Shaving engine bay, found 2 small wiring harnesses cut. And I believe the silver cylinder shaped piece is a position sensor of some sort (cams or crank?).

Found this crimped together under / next to the fuse box...

I am not sure what the cylinder thing is, but I can tell you don't need it. I don't recall what it does, but I have cut them off before.

Also, what you found crimped together is a plug that normally detects that your motor is in park, or nuetral to start an auto car. If you jump it after doing a 5 speed swap, you can now start your car. So your car used to be auto.

Automatic transmission harness and the revolution sensor, neither one are needed if it's now a 5speed.
