pearl city is on the island of oahu. i think the street is ho'okaina. as far as things to do there is:

-the beaches (north shore, and waikiki are most popular with tourists)
-a few malls, pearl ridge mall (pearl city), ala moana (downtown),
-walk the strip in waikiki
-hit up our little touge road (tantalus), which also has one of the nicest view in the state
-hike diamond head crater
-go parasailing
-camping
-fishing
-beaches
-eat
-beaches
-did i forget to mention beaches hahaha

nothing much out here, it relaxing and very chill. sorry to say that we lost out track about 2 years ago so no racing going on. if you got anymore questions just shoot me a pm

yeah... haha. im tryin to go to beaches and what not. my sister lives out here and im visiting. but she works most of the time and my brother in law here is in the navy so hes pretty much busy. im waiting for my sister to take me to kicks hawaii and crap. haha. is that tantalus place far from here?

kawika219

on oahu nothing is far compared to the mainland. i was bitching about how my girlfriend just moved in to her college dorm and its a 45min-1hr drive to visit her. my friend from the mainland said thats nothing haha. from pearl city, you could get to the top of tantalus in probably 1/2hour depending on traffic and how fast you drive up the touge haha. if you're from the bay area you would probably love kicks hawaii. also for that kinda clothes hit up ala moana, there some shops with good stuff:

-pac sun
-island snow
-T&C (town and country)
-theres other stores that are slipping my mind haha

Nah every once in a while get some nice ones but you gotta go to the meets to find them.

lota Honda stuff though...:ghey: j/k

Sorry since I left it seemed everything went down hill. Most of my friends ended up here in Cali for some reason but we all still plan on going home later in life so there will be nice cars again!! lol

Try here for more of the local stuff : http://www.forumshawaii.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=309256

And here : http://racesauce.com/index2.htm

they are run by friends of mine and great sites!

But definitly take it easy, try the food, and If your picking up girls check ID!! Seriously girls there look like they are of age but they are far from it sometimes.

When I was 22 i dated a 16 year old for like 3 months until I found out!! She told me she was 18 and worked at my friends bar so It was a surprise to both of us!!

But consider yourself lucky and enjoy yourself. I would love to get back home for a few days and just relax!

Oh I almost forgot go to Waikiki and Ala Moana and pick up Japanese chicks!!
It's fun, you and they are only there for a few short time so no strings attached!!
And who knows if your lucky when they get back home you can have them send you parts and stuff!! lol!

BTW OFF Topic...Hawaii people, how many of you guys still sing the ala moana commercial theme song in your head when trying to spell it out??
I just did that and thought that I would share. lol
Sorry small kine drunk right now!

Even though it may be, I still felt fucked up for dating a girl that young!
She was hot though!! Oh my god she was hot!
But at the same time it was just wrong! Really wrong.
I never want to be one of the sick fucks that looks at litttle girls all funny.
It also comes down to morals and something called karma. I'm a strong believer in it, so much so that I try to live my life by it.
Do good on to others and good things will happen to you.
Well I don't want some sick fuck trying to date my daughter one day in the future.

Any who, back on topic.
There is one type of food that I suggest you try while your out there.
It's a type of local Korean dish called "Meat Jun" they don't sell it here on the mainland and if they do I can't seem to find it.
It's basically marinated steak thinly sliced and fried in a egg based batter.
It's fucken awesome!!
I use to eat it at least once a week and i haven't had it since the last time I was back over 2 years ago! Pearlridge Mall Has it in the food court.
Again enjoy yourself and have a great trip!

I'm actually in Hawaii too for a week, just visiting family and relaxing

Was supposed to go to Streetcar Showoff yesterday, but had to do yard work instead

Will probably stop by Munkywurks (www.munkywurks.com) later this week to say whats up to my friend and see if he has anything cool in stock

Probably stop by the swap meet on Wednesday to pick up some cool stuff (trying to find the "Slow Down, This Ain't the Mainland" bumper sticker lol)

as far as clubs and bars, are you 23 or 21? Oceans on Restaurant Row is usually worth checking out, especially during summer/spring breaks. Every nite is 23 and over, but Thursday is 21 and over...normally one of the biggest nites there...if you're over 23, I'd check out Tuesday nites at Oceans...$2.50 for ANYTHING in the bar...(within obvious limits...Louis XIII, and crazy stuff of course not, but Goose, Patron, etc.).
Hit up the guys at Green Bottle Productions (www.green-bottle.com). Kip and them normally have some stuff going on at nite too...

If you're there to shop (and into hats/New Eras), check out Fitted Hawaii (www.fittedhawaii.com) in the parking lot of Ala Moana..

If your hungry, go to:

Zippy's. For some reason the chili is good. They are like all over the place like the ABC stores.

I forgot the name, I think it was ohnos near ala moana. It was a hole in the wall. But that is where I tasted 2 day old poi and lomi lomi salmon. That stuff is great with the pork wrapped in some type of greens.

On the cheaps, go to Eagle Cafe in Peal City. It was like 6 bucks for entree, drink, desert.

Todai over in Hon. was the best. It had great fresh fish and everything tasted so good. I was disappointed when I ate at one in the Bay Area. It was not even close.

Rainbow Drive Inn in Oahu, loco moco. mmmmmm

I would have to say even the mall food was good. I couldn't understand.
Have fun!

I went to Zippy's first night I was back and had the Oxtail Soup with a side of Mac Salad (Zippy's makes best mac salad in the world, at least to me....Best Foods Mayo)

Todai sucks dude, even the one in Wakiki

And Rainbow Drive Inn you gotta eat the Boneless Chicken plate with extra gravy + a Slush Float on the side

Well forget everything else my favorite Hawaiian food place has to be ONO's on kapahulu. I remember getting for lunch every weekend when I had our dealership in kaimuki.
Kalua pig and lau lau combo!! kinda exspensive but it's worth it I think.
the only other place I liked was ocean side inn or was it called seaside inn in Kona.
they closed down like a year or so ago but they were around since WW2. And I still remember how good the food was there.
Also Kam Drive inn fried rice and Ox tail soup is bomb!!

I remember Munky over by Nimitz right. THey did a bunch of my friends cars back in the day. He dose some amazing work, good to see that they are still around!

Hope you guys enjoy the rest of your trip you lucky basters!!:coold:

All this talk makes me wanna go back... =/

In a few years after Im done with college and bank enough money Im seriously considering moving back. Oahu is cool but I think its a little too expensive for a nice place. What you guys think about the big island? I know it rains more and doesnt have the great beaches but I wouldnt mind it.

Make sure you move to Kona and not Hilo

I think Maui would be a good choice in terms of living

Has more creature comforts but still is less urban than Oahu (although that is slowly changing)

The whole Superferry debacle is pissing me off though, the people against it are using pretty bad logic

On a side note I'm back in Socal now, and its hot as balls

Hotter than Hawaii, can you believe that?
