Hey all. I have a 98 240sx and the service engine soon light came on. I used an OBDII scanner to pull the codes and there aren't any! That's zero codes pulled. Any ideas on what's going on? Thanks in advance.

Is the light still on? Tried manually pulling codes instead of using the scanner?

Yeah... the light is still on... I'm going to pull them manually and see what happens. I was wondering if the light could mean something else. Like my mom's honda, it turns on whenever you're due to take it to the dealer for it's 30K, 60K, etc.... But on her car, there's actually a Check Engine Light and Service Engine Light. Also, it's actually my friend's car and I know nothing about the instrument lighting for the S14s... so I don't know what will trigger the light and if there are separate lights for service and CELs. I hope it's nothing major though... you know how CELs can ruin your day with an OBDII car. I'll stick to my S13.... lol... smog crap just seems to be a hell of a lot cheaper....
Thanks for responding!

Manually pull it, get to the ECU, turn the screw all the way right with the ign power on (dont start the car, just power on), flip the screw all the way back and look at the cell light. Itll bling a certain times. Slow and fast. Count how many slow blinks and fast ones. Slow ones are the first digit of the codes (10s) and the fast onea are the second digits. To clear the code, flip it screw again and back, then start the car, should clear the codes unless something is tripping it.
