Some Japanese guy jumped infront of the train today at my local station (Sobudai Mai), which ended up shutting down the station for around 2 hours.... Why do people commit suicide?!?!? I dont get it

It makes me sad to see that people end there life in such a way, and all that probably happened to the guy was that he lost his job... eh

Im going to sleep this shit is rediculous.

daaaaaaamn that shit sucks. i've always wanted to know the same thing. i've had a couple of people that were close to me that committed suicide. an uncle of mine and i also had a close friend named Will who was big into 240's out here in San Antonio and had just opened up a shop after moving back here from cali. i guess he really wasnt happy cause everything looked like it was goin well at his shop. he was found one morning in a room at his shop with the door closed and a hose running from his 240 in the garage connected from the exhaust to a hole in the door. he fell asleep in there and never woke up. he was a real cool guy but when talkin to him a week before that he didnt really look happy. he was 40 and i dont think he had a gf or kids at that. maybe he was just lonely and thought he couldnt do anything about it. it could have been money problems. nobody will ever know. r.i.p to will decamp

I'm still dealing with the loss of my family member. He committed suicide at the end of May of this year.

I can't imagine the frame of mind you have to be in to think killing yourself is a solution to any problem. Isn't a common thing for people to commit suicide in Chinese and Japanese culture though to avoid embarrassment? Maybe I misheard. Either way it's an unfortunate event, beyond delaying you from getting home for 2 hours. Someone lost a son, colleague, and quite possibly a father and husband. :-/

How inconsiderate of him to make everyone else two hours late!

While I don't get why people go through with suicide, it's fucking HUGE here in Japan.

Apparently the woods around the base of Mt. Fuji are filled with tons of corpses from people committing suicide in groups. They're so dense and dark, nobody ever goes in to poke around.

Anyway, that sucks.

We need to go to Bee*R to cheer up.

I watched a whole thing about Japan's culture with work and their lives and it explained why they commit suicide so much. As much as I realize American's are lazy slobs, I'm glad it's not so bad that we'll kill ourselves over our job and our stressful lives.

I heard that when someone commits suicide by train in Japan the family has to pay for the damages, time lost, and wages lost to the train and etc. Don't know how true it is, but seems logical to me.

Suicide is selfish and actually hurts everyone around you more than the person that did it.

people commit suicide to not go through the pain and suffering they are feeling. they feel left out and no one to go to. i just lost a loved one recently through suicide. it just sucks that this stuff happens.

Hmmm... Japanese people need to get some riddlin or something. Americans are always drugged up, and look at us! Were doing absolutely...

On second thought, never mind. And to everyone who's lost family or friends, my thoughts go out to you guys.

On a lighter note, I hit a squirrel today. Damn thing lived. put a dent in my fender... wtf!?

if suicide circle (club) was supposed to be a dark comedy, it was genius. if it was supposed to be serious... well, it was pretty funny.

seems like people kill themselves as a way out....a lot of times I think people feel like their problems overshadow everything else....they get depressed and they cant see anything getting better, sometimes its depression, other times just a rash desicion all I know is that person is hurting pretty bad and looking for a way out.....when I was in 6th grade this kid I knew killed himself, he was 13 and in the 8th grade.....whatever was going on seemed bad enough to him that he hung himself. I gues at 13 all your problems seem huge, its really sad though

btw the US city with the highest sucide rate is seattle.....it always rains there and ppl get depressed
