Recently I decided I was going to do a swap into my Zenki 240sx. I wanted to
put the proper motor in it; the motor I feel actually belongs in the car.
Naturally my choice was a notchback. I ordered a clean front clip and a few
other bits (HKS Hi-Power, Megan Racing mounts, Stance GR+, Megan Racing
test pipe, Spec Stage 2 Clutch) and got to work.

Upon pulling the motor from the clip, we realized that it not only had a Mine's
air cleaner and a short shifter, but it also had a new exedy stage 1 clutch in
it. anyone want to buy a spec stage 2? haha.

After pulling my KA, we quickly realized that I was not going to be having AC
(brackets/pumps didnt line up >.<)

After throwing the SR in, we began on the wiring

Anyone who's anyone knows that the cabin harness wiring on the s14 is
stupid hard since there is a HUGE lack of info on it on the net. Have no fear
because my bud Chris and I figured it all out and are going to make a writeup
on it in a few days. For now in this post, however, ill just say its a PAIN IN
THE BUM when you don't know specifically what to do.

But, I digress. We got the wiring done and went through the usual testing
sequences (spark, fuel, injector power) until the stars aligned and the car
started right up. Naturally I pee'd my pants when the exhaust manifold
started to burn off all the garbage we put on it while doing the swap.
Expecially since I retained the stock heat shield (i'd like to keep my brake
master in solid form) so it seemed as if the turbo was smoking. That passed
and happiness ensued.

two days, but that was with the wiring in the car and us constantly changing wires around till we got them all right.

+1 for a clean swap, and for putting the right engine in. wish my notchtop was that clean

edit:you should not have trouble with a/c everything lined up fine when I did mine. and between our swaps nothing is different

Crimping with cheap crimps is mickie mouse. Solder/shrinkwrap or get some real crimpers. I'd kill to have a daily with an s14 SR. You should buy the brackets in the advertisers section to run an s14 KA a/c compressor on your SR.

Maybe the cheap crimps were used to figure out wiring? Solder after everything is figured out?
Nice and clean swap - this is how is should be done.

why did yall have so much trouble finding wiring info? theres diagrams all over zilvia, and every other 240 forum. i found one in 5 mins and took another 30 mins to do the actual wiring. i think it was easier than a redtop, and a redtop is stupid easy. none the less, it looks like you gotta really swap there.

s14 sr in s14 is just a repin job: http://mysite.verizon.net/nrgonline/s14wiring.doc

there's no need to cut and splice heh.

http://www.jrautoparts.com/clip_nissan_s14.htm - I got my clip from there. As for those talking about the repin pit: it's NOT that easy. The repins and other diagrams do not allow the electric fan on low, rear refroster, injector power, or fuel pump to work. That's why it's hard.

edit: the said info does make it seem as if they are pinned to work, but it simply doesn't work.

yea i tried that one way nrg posted and my shit didnt work didnt get fuel or injector power so deltrr if you could send me any info you have i would greatly appreciate it ([email protected])
