Looking to buy some Megan seats not the carbon ones but the recliner style ones. Any feedback on them? any info would be great and thank you.

Cheap, made in Taiwan, will probably fold you in half in an accident. Chances are you wont feel it when you die because your spine will simply snap upon impact.

Good luck!

The moment anyone sees "Megan" on something in your car, he/she assumes you are a cheapass who cares not a whit about quality.

Feedback.

while megan is fine for things that don't have anything to do with your safety (eg seats, suspension components, harnesses), i would NOT trust my life to any offbrand.

I owned lots of megan items before but they where never seats. Exhaust parts and sway bars and they where pretty nice quality and fairly cheap. Was not looking to spend 2k on a pair of seats maybe I will get evo seats they usually go for 400 to 500 or stick with bride seats but they are $$$$ for just sitting my azz on them :)

With many car parts, you get what you pay for.

that's not always the case. It may be true for many items but if you do research about it and how it was made or where it came from you would find out allot of the items come out of the same damn factory just change the color and slap a name tag on it. For example just like a gaming PC big brand name out there alienware etc etc your paying 2k more for a label when you can build it at half the cost or less and it will be the same or perform better depending on your skill and if you know the right brand name to buy.

Yeah but this isnt just a rebadged PC.

Its a well known fact that Megan makes their own cheap ass crap in their factory in Taiwan. They are most certainly not tested to the same standards as other brands (ie Sparco, Recaro etc). I think the FIA would laugh at them if they even attempted to get those things certified by them.

Plus they arent even comfortable. My buddy has one chilling in his shop and my ass is uncomfortable after sitting on it for like 10 minutes. I cant imagine driving to Vegas or even further on that thing.

Honestly if you're looking at getting reclineable seats there going to be expensive those megan reclinables are just like the cheap ebay ones thier junk! On the other hand megan's carbonfiber race seats are pretty nice I've made trips from portland to seattle in my bro's car very comfortable and they hold you in tight, also they are pending on FIA approval but they are 500 each which isnt that bad.

The megan seats will raise your height in the car (not a good thing) and are of very cheap construction. I say stay away.

Wait a second, seats, suspension components and harnesses have nothing to do with safety?

Wow.

Anyways, I wouldn't trust them, especially when others (like memfab) are more reputible.

no, he's giving examples of things that DO have to do with safety. yeah, I had to read that twice too.

hmm Sparco Torrino looks like a good price they usually around 550 to 600 and I heard they feel good. But hard to buy seats when you can't seat on them and try them out.

I'll vouche for the Torrino's. Fits really well especially for wider guys like myself with descent support for a reclineable sport seat. One knock would be the bolsters tend to get soft with age, but so do the Recaro SRG's. Maybe consider the Milano as well if it's still in your price range.

you guys DO realize that seats are one of the #1 things responsible for cushioning your safety during an impact?

just incase you didnt know, your spine needs support. i'de highly recommend going with a quality seat. there's only one brand that i respect, and thats recardo.

err, recaro. :-)

I have a set of Recaro SRD's, and I'd have to say, probably the best seat I've sat in.

Kind of funny; I've had a set of Bride Ergo II's waiting to be picked up for what seems like almost a year, but have yet to do it because I am just too damn lazy and the place is too far. Hell, I forget how they even FEEL (if they're just as supportive or better than the Recaros?) and not to mention since I'm liquidating my cars, where they're even going to go into!?

Honestly, I recommend getting R32 (Skyline GTR) seats, I have a set in my car and they feel great and look stock in it. I've seen sets go for as low as $400 (in ratty condition), and you won't need custom rails as three of the holes bolt up.

If you cannot find any or they're still too much for you, try S14 or even S15 seats (S15 seats might be just as much as the R32s).

To be fair, basically ALL bottom mount reclinable seats sit too high in the 240. I've sat in Megan, Sparco Torino, and a few others. They all sat the same height.

Compared to stock 240 seats, the Megans felt great for the couple months I had them. My friends who rode in the car really liked it too. Butt diagnostics - sits exactly the same as the Torino's.

I had a couple problems with the quality of the upper back rest, but had it replaced.

Was never in an accident with them, so can't tell you that part.

Got rid of them because they just sat too high - I went sidemount bucket instead, sat much lower.

yeah, chalk that up to bad phrasing.

Im pretty sure the Milano = Torino with different material (ie alcantra/leather) and a fancier recliner knob. But padding/fitment wise it felt identical to me.

asshole, your extra seat(s) can come here to the office. I'll happily make an office chair out of them.

ps: r32 seat is the ultimate seat.
