Two tone paint!

I was thinking of painting my s13 hatch snow white and keeping the top some kinda black.i need to figure out which black if im gonna go with this two tone.just want some opinions on what u guys think i should paint it or what black would go good with snow white. Thx. the car is gonna be rolling on some fn01r-c hyper black...17x7 front...17x9 rear +22 offset

it has been done and it can look ok depending on the rest of the car. Also, why 17x7 in the front? Run 17x9 in the front too...

people have black roofs all the time...and it looks great.

if you are talking about black above the lower body line and white under, then yes i agree that would look like complete shit for 2 reasons.

1. 2 tone only looks good on coupes.

2. even on coupes darker colors should be under the lighter color, the opposite looks like ass.

Black roof does look rad on hatches

tint the windows for extra sweetness.

no reason to run 17x7's, those 17x9's can be made to fit in the front.

look at the wheel fitment thread and pic threads.

I think there is some confusion in this thread. When you say two-tone on this board most people think two-tone like that can be found on 89-90 coupes. Hopefully what the original poster is getting at is painting his roof black. This has been done by many and can look good.

If you are talking about painting your hatchback two-tone (like a two-tone coupe) don't do it. It doesn't look right since the hatch's body lines are much curvier unlike the boxy coupe. Just my opinion though

well he just wants the roof black. imo it will look good. just tint the back windows and it'll look good.

i have my hatch gold metallic with a black roof and double limo tint.

Can't remember if it is someones' on here or where I found it, but with the darker light colour on the bottom, it doesn't look too bad. Anything else I can't even really picture though 'cause I don't want to.

Looks good, but I think it would've looked better if the darker color was the lower half.

Black roof hatchs have always looked good. No question about it. I don't think anyone would argue that.

I'll be going with the black roof come Winter/Spring when I get the car painted. Black roof never fails!
