I have had the engine running for about 4 months now.  I have been experimenting with different boost levels ever since i started to drive it....at forst i ran 10psi..no problems....then i went to 14psi...no problems....then i went up to 16psi...still no problems...i ran 16psi for two weeks and the engine felt great....the i put the boost back to 14psi and drove a few more weeks...then one night i floored it in 4th gear and when i hit full boost the engine stopped and jerked the entire car.....once i let off the throttle the engine was fine...so i floored it again and it did the same thing again...it seems as if the ECU is telling the engine "NO MORE"!!....well itonly did it on that night anbd then a few times in the period of a month.....thru this entire time i have had the stock exhaust with a 3inch downpipe.....after a month i put on a full catback N1 dual a.d now the engine does it all the time.....if i set the boost to 14psi, i will spike to 16 psi and then the engine will just stop.......when i set the boost to 12psi, i will spike to 14psi and still get the same problem.....when i set the boost to 10psi , i spike up to 12psi and sometimes the engine will hae the problem....i am now at stock(7psi) and the problem doesn't happen.............what could this be???.....is the ECU cutting the fuel off.....or is it a problem with the MAF......

any help is greatly appreciated.......

Hey that just sucks ass.Make sure all the lines are connected and then call heavet throttle or where ever you got the sr from and ask them maybe there is a problem or one of your connectors have come unplugged. But to me it sounds like a maf prob cus the ecu will relearn what you drive and map it but is will not run above 15psi normaly. So check your ay ot and make sure you are ok.

It sounds like you are having a fuel leaning problem.  When you said the car cut out when you floored it is the first clue.  You've introduced more air via boost.  Is you MAF reading it correctly or the ECU making the appropriate adjustments?  Do you have enough fuel pressure?  It could be something as simple as a clooged or dirty fuel filter that inhibits maximum flow.  Also, make sure that your timing is not too advanced.  BTW, be sure you are using 92+ octane fuel to avoid detonation.

i have the walboro pump,300ZX filter and yes i run 93 octane....i am begining to sense that it is the MAF.....i am going to invest in a SAFC and a Z32 MAF....

IIRC the s14 blacktop runs a fuel cut at certain boost levels or when the ECU detects the possibility of leaning out.
Options:
1. buy a fuel cut defenser from enjuku; risk leaning out the engine and doing serious damage
2. get a JWT ECU made for the new MAF and correct that way; tons of downtime
3. TURN DOWN THE BOOST YOU MANIACj/k

Your ideas to remedy the problem are pretty sound but tuning that damn SAFC is pretty time consuming and takes a good amount of dyno runs to get right

Edit: What is the temp out side when you are running 16psi at 12psi when its hot I get a fuel cut also.  Make sure you run the car for the conditions

Hey Its RINKU..

Just get an SAFC and Z32 MAF...it cured all my problems with my S14 SR..I been on this road....TRUST ME, you don't really need to go and get ECU tuned and spend all that money and have tons of downtime on it just yet, wait for that until you get bigger turbo and injectors.

Anyway, i PMed you in FA. I got a SAFC (BRAND NEW) for sale and the Z32 MAF PIPE, if you are interested, let me know....
