No secret, slide it off and remove the metal clips all in one yanking motion while screaming why wont you come off you son of a bitch and it will slide right off. Just remember how it came off cause the real headache comes when you put the new one back on.

The T/O bearing is pressed on to the retainer. Use a vice to hold the bearing stationary and use a brass punch to knock the retainer off, it will slide out after a little effort. Using anything harder will damage the retainer, thus making it jam on the input shaft cover.
