Hi,
I had an idea for the forum to make meets and pickup only for sale items easier to accomplish. Give members the option to choose from a drop down box their state and then a second drop down box with east, west, north, south, and central (in your profile, most likely). Then, when we are trying to get a meet together, we can send out a message invitation to everyone in say, South Jersey. Or, if I'm selling something for pickup only (car, hood, engine), you could also send out an private message. Then, have a box in your messenger for "Regional Mailing List" so that they don't get confused with private deals. This would make meets a lot easier, for I noticed no one is really ever on the meetup or for sale pages. This is only a general overview. I wanted to see what everyone else thought. Suggestions? Comments? Administrator comments? Is this possible with vBulletin or whatever we are currently using? Thanks.

Wow, thanks. Hopefully they will think the same. I'm just sick of not getting any meets up here in NJ! I'm trying to get a list together of everyone in my area, but it would be extremely hard for me to be the coordinator of such an event without something like this.

Sounds like a good idea for the meet only. &nbsp;There is no way in hell I'm gona let everybody in my area selling something e-mail or PM me about it <img src="#/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hmmm.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hmmm:'>

I doubt it'll be incorporated into the forum like that though...good idea either way though.

Cool idea. I know Ikonboard wont let us do it. Possibly with vB, but id have to find someone who would be willing to make the script, but with so many scripters out there and so many car forums out there that use vB it might be ezier then we hope. Ill look into it more and ask around if any vB (PHP) scripters would be interested in doing this.

Another idea--when you register for the forums, can we possibly make it a MANDATORY field to enter your state (kinda like having to enter your e-mail address--you can't complete registration w/o filling in that field), so we can search for users in our state? &nbsp;I've noticed a lot of the community-members here don't put their location in when they register and it would be really awesome to be able to look for people in our areas.
