Ok well I got the car 99% back together today. But when I went to put the Down Pipe back in. It wouldn't fit. How the hell can it not fit. I was in there for 4 months. The only thing I can think of is that some thing got missaligned when I had my cat flanges welded. But it looks like I will have to have the DP cut and rewelded. Boo Hoo.

Guess I will take a hack saw and dremmel to it later today. And then see if I can mark the way the pipe should sit on the flange. WIsh me luck <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'> Then I need to find some one around here than can do a good job welding.

Just thought I would share. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>

Thanks man, I can't wait to get her running again.

Josh, I really haven't had that many problems. Juat a very busy schedule. The car just dosen't come first. There were a few minor things, all corrected. This DP thing, is just silly. I am kind of stumped to be honest. Oh well.

Did you purchase a kit or did you piece it all together yourself?

Actually both. It was an FMAX kit, I bought second hand. I got a good deal on it. But as it turns out I have replaced a ton of stuff that I felt was not up to my standards. So the kit is no longer really an FMAX kit.

So much for the SR downpipe actually fitting on the KAT. &nbsp;I think at this point, you probably would have been better off dropping the initial dime for the custom work. &nbsp;Of course - since it fit before... &nbsp; <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/eh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':eh:'>

Good to hear she's almost back together though. &nbsp; Are you going to VIR?

No, that it isn't that either The flange for the SR VS the KA down pipe is only rotated by a matter of a few degrees on the exhaust side. That isn't the issue. Trust me it did fit.

I had a shop weld flanges on to the RT cat with all other peices on the car. So there was zero tensile load on the exhaust at that time.

I am going to remove the cat and rear section of the exhaust and bolt up the mid pipe and DP again. I am 100% sure that they will fit then. It is prpbably the flanges on the cat that are off.

I will keep you all posted, cause I know that the world revolves around my saga <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

Oh VIR? think so, that remends me I need to email NASA today and make sure that they put the credit toward this event, like we agreed....

No I can't say that either. The kit I bought was used. From a car with a blown motor. There were parts missing parts damaged ect. I got a pretty good deal on it but I knew that I would have a bit more work on my hands than if I had bought a new complete kit. The more I think about it the more I feel that the missalignment is the fault of the cat. I will repost my findings.
