Well I've been running a test pipe, but I'm thinking I want to replace it with a HiFlow cat. I remember hearing about a few options over the years, but I wanted to hear opinions on which flow better, last longer. So far the only options I've come across are the Catco, and vibrant cats with the Catco being available in a bolt on app. I'd rather bolt on, but what other options are out there?

Does random technology make one I think its bolt-on, then there's magnaflow aka carsound I think. Not sure if that bolts on tough. Pacesetter makes some too

Yeah, Im trying to keep it cheaper... looks like Ill be hitting up a catco universal at this point. Cheapest I found the catco bolt on was 240sxmotoring, and the randomtech was at cheapest $200. I found a Catco weld on high flow for $50 shipped.

ive asked the same question b4, and i was told that catco doesnt last very long, and i was suggested to use magnaflow, however, magnaflow is not bolt-on...at least not for 3' piping. u need to find a shop and weld it.

yea that's what i did, ordered a 3 inch magnaflow, took it to a shop and had it welded on, new flanges and gaskets too.

Everything including the cat cost me $150. Same price as catco and essentially mine is a bolt on as well, cept i never took it off or put it on, but i have that option.

I have a universal Catco and it seems to be okay.

If you buy it from FRSport, they will weld the flanges on for you to make it bolt on. Like I said, it still works for me, and the fitment was perfect.

I got a magnaflow high flow, works pretty good. I was thinking about gutting it to change the tone of my exhaust a little, but eh what ever... And really thats all your doing when you gut it. I think i would gain half a horse if i gutted it, since it is high-flow.

Its welded on, but thats no problem for me. lifetime warrenty on all parts of my exhaust.

I was just about to ask the same question today...

The majority of responses I got were towards Catco. I may be leaning towards Random Tech though, some of my friends recommended it.

One of my friends in my town is running a Magnaflow and he seems to be pretty happy with it.

So many choices....

my entire region is doing away with pre-'96 emissions testing in september. if i drag my feet for a couple more weeks i won't even have to worry about it :D

Well I've been running a resonated test pipe, and I cracked it...my guess is speedbumps. The cars to loud as it is, so I figure if I'm going to replace it a cat should help tone it down a bit.
