Today I test drove a 98 240sx 5sp with 60k he is asking 9k but I got him down to 8k b/c he is the third owner the first owner was in the navy and never drove it ,the second owner modified it by putting a tanabe catback,and tanabe lowering springs, and zenki tail lights, he also took off the whole ac unit and cruise control, the owner now has all the ac parts and he has only had the car for 3 months,
Im wondering if this car has had a turbo motor swap at one point and they put a motor back in it just sell it, also the rear camber is out -3 the seller has a miata and a rx-7 and reason for selling is that he needs at least one sedan not 3 sport cars what you guys think about this, the car does run and drive very well so I dont know is 8 grand a good price ?

Its a 98 kouki with 60k and 5spd. Decent deal. You can go to a salvage and buy the parts u need from any 95-98 240sx for a few bucks. Going from kouki to zenki tails is a downgrade. 7k woulda been better price but depends on the overall condition of the car and how its runnin and body condition.

ASK QUESTIONS!!! I mean, if you want to know if someone swapped the engine, and is now just sticking another back in it for a quick sell, ask them... If the answer is not to your liking, ask WHY, then, would the AC/cruise have been removed from a lightly modified car with only 60k on the odo. Also, ask WHY IN THE FUCK he would put Zenki tails on a Kouki, sounds like there may have been some damage (wreck, maybe, perhaps not genuinely a 98?). If the answers are not to your liking, then hell no the car is not worth 8 or 9 grand. If these items are things you think you can handle within your specific areas of expertise, then offer less. Otherwise, let someone else inherit that headache.

He said he would go a little lower b/c of the taillights lights we never got to lowest I guess he may go 7800 but he started at 9000 so thats kinda weird he drops the price easily the fan clutch wont spin freely when the car is off and the gasket at the downpipe is leaking he is fixing all that monday then we are going make a final price, I think the car had a engine swap at one point and Im wondering if the motor in the car really has 60k or not b/c of the ac parts removed

Either that or the car maybe had an rb in it or some weak back yard swap and they didnt know how or bother with retaining the ac so it was ditched. What type of faggot ricer would completely remove the entire ac unit to save weight on a "LIGHTLY MODDED" car. Shit is stupid. Look on the door jam info sticker and see what date the car was made... Also write down the vin number and do a carfx on it.

I bought my 97 for 8,600 with more miles, and stock...it's ran great since I had it...This seems like a pretty decent deal to me so long as the body and motor are in good shape. I'd carfax it before you buy it.

1. is the car truely a MINT 98 inside and out (doesn't sound like it) if it was then $9K with 60K miles would be a great deal.

2. do a carfax with the VIN, get the auctual year model, and if it has any accidents

3.is the car really MINT? brand new interior and exterior?

4. grammar.

5. the AC can be removed to drop weight and add HP, the cruise control is something that is dropped during engine swaps, check all frame visible under the car, tap the sides looking for bondo, and look for blended paint as well as bondo sanding marks.

Where was the car found...craigs? if they(zilvia) had more concrete info on the car they'd be able to help you properly. Hahahahaha, no I don't hang out at Phantasm, and there are about 15-20 240sx parked at Phantasm. All of them are probably better than what you drive, and some of them are my friend's cars. I mean, sure half the cars have Sportmax, but I doubt you can afford an rb25 swap or even do it.

In order to help him we need to understand him. I personally expect a 25 year old to not have the typographical skills of an 8 year old youth. It is well known that people do not tolerate poor grammatical construction, so people reacted accordingly trying to get him to pose the question in a comprehendible manner.

He reacted poorly to people's commentary, which thus dug himself in an ever deeper hole. This is the internet, and a forum where opinions are to be expressed. If he cannot handle that, he can go to a forum somewhere that's oppressed and ruled like a dictatorship. I have plenty of people give me shit and even more people who don't like me, but that's something I cause and have no shame of.

If you're allowed to express your opinion of why what we've done is wrong, I have just as much of a privilege to defend the actions.
