NISMO tranny mount problem...WTF

I just put the s13 block/tranny into my s14, with the s14 manifolds. The exhaust manifold was too close to the bottom of my car, and the cat was so high that it was actually TOUCHING the bottom of the car, not allowing me to bolt up the rest of the exhaust.

After a couple hours of VERY ANNOYING puzzlement, i discovered the only difference between this car and my other s14(with a well fitting exhaust) is the TRANNY MOUNT.

While doing the swap i used a NISMO tranny mount with a solid poly insert. When compared to my other mount, this ones sits a good 1/2 or 5/8 of an inch HIGHER...

Has anyone had a similar problem while using stock motor mounts, and a new nismo tranny mount(with insert)????

I'm almost positive this is the problem....ANyone experience something similar?

people have been reporting problems with nismo motor mounts left and right, this is the first i've heard of tranny mount issues, though.... this is really making me not want to buy nismo mounts.

I just swapped my motor out for a freshly rebuilt KA24 in my S14. I replaced both the motor and tranny mounts. I did notice a similair issue with my tranny sitting higher and my exhaust rattles against the body a little when idleing low. The little bit of noise is worth it though. I love the mounts compared to stock.

i'm pretty sure SPL makes hard rubber bushings similar to the nismo mounts.... nismo might not be worth the hassle.
