I just rebuilt my z32 26mm caliper and picked up a set of new bolts from mcfadden-dale, but now Im concerned about the strength of the bolts, will they hold up under pressure? The stock bolts are blank 10mm hex head caps and the new ones are 17mm hex heads 8.8 bolts.

the stock bolts aren't 10mm (i could be wrong, it's been a while). the ones you need to compare to are the spindle to bracket bolts, since they are the ones that carry the load of the brakes. the slide pin bolts just keep the caliper in place.

anyway, as long as the shaft is the same size (I hope so, threading it in would be hard otherwise) and the grade is the same, you should be fine. i don't know what the grade of the stock bolts is, but it's pretty high.

i'd be more concerned about the washers you put in there. you really aren't supposed to take the calipers apart. it will only introduce more problems.

but since it's already done, those bolts should be fine, but that's not much more than a guess. even regular bolts are quite strong in tension.
