hey everyone today i hit a couple of corners coming home from work today and after i turned my last corner and stopped behind a couple of cars waiting at a light, all of a sudden my car started idling at 2k, its a slight annoyance however i wonder if its a mechanical problem and also how to fix it. i was going to check the throttle sensor after the car warmed down, but now its too dark. please let me thank you in advance for help

Check the idle air control valve, throttle body cable, and damaged intake pipes/hoses...
same thing would happen to me, if you still have the cruise control cable check that. used to come undone on me all the time and leave the tb slightly open.

when my throttle postion sensor went out my car idled at 3k, really aggravating. Replaced the sensor and it worked fine after that. and make sure its for the right tranny, i dont think thats the case but for me auto on a manual has the same effect.

I did this last night, my car was idling at 1200 to 1400 after it warmed up, then I cleaned the IACV with intake cleaner.

that i know, cuz when i did this and my prior 5 speed swap the car started idling higher than the auto but not at 2k, i will have to check the iacv this weekend cuz im super mad bizz E.
and los_inc how clever jebus luv drifing, how elementary, please stay off if you have no insight to share upon this situation. j/k do wat you want i like to entertain the simple minded it brings me joy.
as a matter of fact, after i gassed up tonight and started the car the engine stumbled down from 2k to around 1100 which is my norm., and then after a mile or so of driving it went back up to 2k im pretty sure it the mafs, i will just replace it hopefully thats it

go to the side of your manifold find idle screw
remove screw be careful theres a spring behind it
now spray throttle body cleaner in there like a maniac
now put everything back in reverse and say 1 hail mary
have some one crank your car and adjust your idle while
they read off you rpms to you. remember to rev it a bit while your
adjusting so once it settles you get an idea of where you idle is.

if anything it might just be a vacuum issue, which i will take care of hopefully before i go sr, anyone know how to vacuum a vacuum system, i think there is brake fluid in my booster

to check for vac leaks
open hood
grab ur can of intake cleaner
with the car on, spray along the intake tract
if theres a leak, it'll get sucked in and make the engine stumble
use that to pinpoint the leak
