camber plate stud problem.
Okay so i bought some used cusco coilovers and one of the camber plates has a broken stud.
What can i do to fix this?
Can i get a new stud pressed in or is there any place i can get it fixed?
Is it still usable or should i just throw this one away?

Knock it out, find a suitable replacement stud. JBWeld it back in if need be.

Hello get the broken one out first, then drill it out the next size up & re tap it the next bigest size(Might have to make hole in tower bigger also). Or if its just broken & the threads are ok then just replace the broken stud.

you can get a drill and bolt out the stud, or vicegrip it out if there's any meat left. then replace the stud. if they're anything like JICs, the studs are actually screws.
www.mcmaster.com i'm sure you can find the right one. you might have to buy 20 of them tho. lol

I did that on a set of Cuscos I used to have, the studs were lightly stripped and I was about to sell them. A good whack with a hammer got them out, then I matched up a set close enough to the same knurl and JB'ed them in good. They've now been on four other cars at last count and no one has had any problems.

hammering isnt working too good. maybe my hammer isnt big enough.
all its doing it flattening the stud.
any suggestions?

just use a press.lubricate it if it helps.
they should just pop right off...
yea use a bigger hammer for better impact but ofcourse u need something stable to the set the plates on.(that is why using a press would be better.)
u can also cut it short close base of the plate and use a drill almost as big as the diameter of the bolt then this should just make the stud easier to remove.
sorry if i suck at explaining it.
hope it helps...

Yeah it's amazing what a little weight behind your "whack" will do.
Wait...what...?
