Auto -> manual/SR swap

I SEACHED! All the 5spd swap FAQ's I found were just swapping from KA auto to KA 5spd, nothing involving an SR.

I have a running S13 with an SR. I am going to be swapping everything over to an auto S14. What transmission harness should I use in the SR 5spd tranny? The manual SR one or the auto S14 one?

Anything else I might need to do differently with the wiring?

It's the SAME TRANSMISSION.

Any bit of swap info is the exact same.

The difference is I will have a manual SR ECU in there.

Don't most of the 5spd swaps keep the auto KA ECU?

They keep the KA auto ecu because they have a KA. If you go sr, you need to use the SR ecu. An auto ecu can run a manual trans, not the other way around

I know that. I was just wondering about when they run the wires straight from the tranny sensors to the ECU. Isn't that going to be different for me?

Why would it be any different?

All you need is the VSS, which is already there. If you want reverse lights you hardwire it just like you would any other 5speed swap. The ECU has nothing to do with it.

Ummm... no. For S13's the auto ECU will work for a manual. An manual ECU will NOT work in an auto.
