Alright so i tried the 93 sentra se-r alternator and it doesnt fit (go figure), and i have a ka24e alternator but the tensoner bracket wont let it fit. And yes i know you can modify it to work. but i am not quite sure how to do it. Can some one of a higher intelligence please guide me with another crossover or atleast inform me (with lots of details) how to modify the ka alternator to fit. I HAVE SEARCHED.

thanks ahead of time Zilvians

ka's work you just have to drill out the top hole.
And don't tell me no, because i did it and it works.
You also have to swap pulleys (duh).

drill out the threads with a bit to basically make it smooth

Yes the only things you have to change on the KA alternator is the pulley, and drill out the hole.

You can also get the # of your SR alternator, take it to a auto parts store and have them cross reference it to something that will fit.

You can also have your SR alternator rebuilt nearly anywhere for less than the price of a new one.

Yes. Usually they run no more than $100. Better than $620 for a new one.

Well i modded the ka alt. and it fits and works, but the guy i got the car from said that i will have to re'pin a plug cause it wont charge the battery. And yes i have drove it but it dies, and it sucks. any idea. and also yes i searched.

you should't have to repin anything on a ka24 alternator.
I've used it many times and have had no issues, if you follow the steps i posted earlier.

So today im gonna follow the wires back to the ecu and then go from there. Does the alternator have fuses or anything??

yes...its in the fuse box not even 5 inches above it...disconnect the batt 1st tho, if you blow its fuse its kind of hard to find a new one quickly.

I know, OLD thread but i don't care.

Did you have to repin that alternaotor plug or not? Is it because you are running the KA24E alternator?
