I blew my fp28 not to long ago and it was in really bad shape.
I turned it back in to forced performance and they told me that there is was something that got in the oil supply.. like chips from the block...
Am I in big trouble.. what do i do next???
-I have had my valve cover powder coated in which i believe you have to sand blast down, this mightve been a problem..
-I ran on higher boost on smaller injectors in which one blew and was replaced and it ran just perfect.
I dont know anything else i can think of that couldve effected something what should start looking at?? What should i start thinking about replacing :-(

if you got metal shavings in your oil pan then you are in trouble.

the only thing that I think could have chipped off is maybe the Timing Chain Guide (Its made of plastic)

It took the pan off and i found some graphite looking particles in there, that im pretty sure came from the turbo... but no chips thank god.. i flushed oil through the system to clean it all out but not sure if i got it all yet.. I will probably looking into that timing chain guide, because i do get rattling when i start up (common for sr) but i never heard of no one actually grinding anything off

do oil changes often as well as engine flush kits (with solvents) to make sure nothing is stuck inside of the galleys. Also, check the piston oil squirters as well as main and rod bearings for any damage. I would also prepare to take the oil pump off as well.

If you did not already do this cut open the oil filter to see what else is in there

i saw grayish silver graphite in there... could this of been from my turbo? forced performance said it the bearings on the turbo that are shot are copperish looking color... and he thinks it comes back into play that my valve cover has been powder coated and that it couldve caused my problem, as sand filliments were still stuck on the valve cover

thats a great possiblity
if you dont cash your valve cover after its been sand blasted the udnerside will usually be covered in little bits of sand.
:barf:
I know it sucks.
most oem engine bearings are a coppperish hue also when failed and worn into oil fyi.

the valve cover has been changed over 2 years ago, you think i should still try to clean it out, or just go ahead and flush out some oil through a couple of times before boosting..
I dont want to get this turbo rebuilt and let it go to shit again
