Retrofitted a nissan throttle postion sensor onto my stock throttle body, and need to know where to buy the connector pigtail for the TPS. The number on the tps is: 293024

I cut back the outer loom, and there is a white, red, and black wire, what wire means what?

haha, just posted about this in another thread,

Don't know if this helps but in working with Megasquirt, a DIY fuel injection computer, the TPS was wired as such

Pin 1 - 5 v ref
Pin 2 - Signal
Pin 3 - Ground

Should be pretty easy to isolate the problem, if you check for continuity between ground and one of the outer wires, the one with continuity is your ground, the other is Ref and the middle should always be signal. Take your reading with ground going to common on your multi-meter and signal going into the other lead.

Don't qoute me but from what your describing, I would venture a guess that black is ground, red is 5vref and white is signal. Again it's best to verify it with a multimeter.

Haha... I've just finished my megasquirt installation, but I didn't install a TPS right away.

Now I've got this nissan one. I'm confused as to why there is a 3 prong connector and then there are 3 separate wires coming from the side of the TPS housing... which one do I actually use?

This may or may not help, I did my MS installation on a 89 VW Golf and I had a 16v Passat TB with a TPS sensor with a similar three seperate wires coming from the sensor. The guy I bought the TPS from included the pigtail that connected directly to the sensor. That was what I wired MS to. The wires coming from the sensor I might venture a guess are for a full throttle enrichment switch internal to the TPS. Again just guessing cause the I could hear what I thought was a mirco switch click on and off when I opened the throttle. Hope that helps, can't be too different.

The 3 prong is I believe something to do with the idle, the 3 wires are the ones that determines the position of the throttle body those are the wires you use.
