Any of you like to bowl?

Who here likes to bowl? Either for fun or in a league? I just recently started to get more into it. I use to always just throw the ball straight, but now I learned how to bowl properly. My average score is around 130 right now.

I want my own ball also. :keke:

when you buy balls, get one that is your weight.

I went for a 16lbs. ball which i averaged 180's but it wsa too heavy for me.

Im probably better off w/ a 14lbs, but I thought wussies bowled lighter balls.

Need big heavy balls to be a man.

I actually use 9 and 10lb balls. The heavier ones hurt my wrist when I hook it. I like the feeling of having control over a lighter ball, than just throwing a heavier ball without much control.

LOL....i'd have a 25 lb ball....i always knew i had...nevermind. bowling is pretty effin fun. go to bowling alley with a group of people...start running doin random moves as you throw the ball, yelling so everyone can hear you, start crip walking on people. LOL. but it was fun. i havnt done it in a while now though. i used to use an 10-12 pound ball... like akademik when hooking the ball with a 15 lb ball my wrist would hurt..even with the arm/wrist band with the metal bar thing to keep it straight....i think i'll go this friday actually.

I think the highest score I ever had was when I was real high. 210.
Besides that I averaged like 90.

As with anything, learning how to hook takes time. I actually just started to try it without any help from anyone, and now I pretty much got it down, I just got to work on accuracy.

I used to just throw the ball in the middle as hard as I can, that got pretty boring.

i used to bowl all the time back in highschool. i was captain of my team in the school bowling league, we always placed in the top 3 and won it once... i averaged about 170, nothing spectacular. now that you mention it, i'm gonna dig my old ball out.

i just use the lightest ball they have, usually a 6 pounder or something... one because i'm weak and two because it's fun to rocket that thing down the lane at 40 mph

they don't let older kids use bumpers though... that takes the fun out of the game

i used to bowl every week since it was cheap on mondays, recently i took a class just to get my Physical education out of the way which was bowling.

i got a bit better, but i dont go bowling much anymore. bowlings so expensive!

go invest in some shoes of your own first. cuz alley shoes are NASTY haha

Lighter bowling balls are fun when you want to be in the ranks of ken and ryu in a fireball throwing contest.

I would suggest you try a heavier ball (14lbs and above) for less deflection with a wrist guard to help you keep your wrist strait and cause less strain.

If you want to get better, consider purchasing a ball to have a better hook than those plastic public ones.

All in all, the game is fun with beer!

lately, ive been going a lot to get back to where i was before...i had a company party not too long ago and to my surprise, i suck...so i cant leave it at that...before my company party at the alley, its been about 4-5+ years since ive bowled...i used to average 160-180s with an all time high of 236...now? average 110-140s...now ive been going A LOT to try and get it back...idk how i lost it to begin with...i think a lot of it has something to do with the fact that im buzzed or drunk when bowling now, lol...

get your own shoes!!! you save a lot of money...i need to order some again...and get your own ball!!! aftermarket material (polyurethane, resin, etc) balls hook a lot more and its better to adapt to one ball only...opposed to adapting to plastic house balls, friends balls, hand me down aftermarket balls at the alley, etc...and relax!!! when i bowl i get frustrated and can see the scores plummet...so dont trip chocolate chip!
