How the hell does the board stay on their feet when they are in the air for so long? I heard the commentators mention something about magnets, but didn't hear them expalin anything.

Its all physics, look carefully at the angle of their feet on the board and the direction they are traveling. Inertia, friction, grabs and gravity are their friends. Yeah that guy who fell flat on his back got royally fucked up. I was amazed he was able to walk away from that. His shoes blew off like when little ghetto children get hit by cars!!!

Magnets? That's the dumbest thing I have ever heard.. Hard if they are using magnets or anything else that keep their feet to the board then they might as well be called wannabe snowboarders..


I've been skating since mid 90 (stopped for a couple years though) and it's all about physics.. Also about how new your grip tape and shoes are, but majority is physics...

Another thing is usually skateboarders do some kind of grab (especially the vert guys) to keep the board attached to their feet when they go large and know they are going to be in the air for a good amount of time.
