View Full Version : Some noob in a red s13 crashed right in front of me trying to drift.

So today on the way to the shop. I was heading north on almaden expy. I came up to a light, and after i stopped, noticed a red s13 that was about to make a left from a side street heading south. It was a typical faded s13 with crappy chrome wheels, and a fart can. When the light turned green he floored it. He was floored the whole length of the turn. He then proceeded to pass a car on the outside at the apex. When he did this the car got sideways, and when he went to correct he did some sort of a really shitty manji. He ended up smashing his shit into a wall at about 35mph. whole rear subframe was bent. I pulled over to ask him if he was ok. he said " ohh shit, my shit is fucked". I said "yup, do you have a limited slip in there, or a welded diff?" He replied " I have an unlimited slip diff". Then i got in my car and left.
Good going guy.
Please keep the drifting off of the street fucktards.

lol reminds me of this one day in class this guy walks into our classroom (UTI exton - undercar class) and asks if we can help him replace a tie rod bc he hit a curb. A kid in the class says " in that black s14 outside?" he says yeah - then people asked what happened (everyone seen him on the side of the road the night before in the rain) and he said he hit the curb drifting - then people asked what was done to the car and he said "eibach sportlines and a drift spec viscous LSD, intake and exhaust" then he went on about the exhaust.... we all made fun and put these signs on his car about him being a walmart drivers school dropout and that the car was drift spec (AUTO - and it happened to be his girls car)...
we refused to fix it btw (and the teacher helped us make the signs)
people that drive like idiots dont deserve to drive on the street (meanwhile my lic is suspened for driving with suspended lic - bc i got underage drinking 30 day susp they never told me about in 1997 and i got pulled over in nov... Im 27 btw)

this happens in any scene.
I was thinking today how shitty this is.
which is when i have money one day i will just a dedicated race car and maybe even my own team for gt live or something comprable in the future.
drifting crews and culture and mad tyte gmr drifting is bound to do this.
its like anything that gets out of hand.
and honestly Luke, if kids like that didnt exist, you would make less money in the long run.
Its in your best interest for people to crash 240s and drift and put people in danger, more teenagers will sell their souls for shit one day and want to get into the scene.
Its the way of the wind with every car fad.
personally sucks for people who daily drive their tuned cars.

Agreed. My latest parts car was a drifting attempt gone bad. 95 SE, manual, ABS, clean title, bought for the huge sum of $150. You can't go wrong with kids wrecking their cars and being caught in a bind. I hope they keeping stuffing them into walls, more parts for the real enthusiasts to buy and use.

I live on the island of Oahu, here in Hawaii. They took away our only race track, over a year ago. So, we have no choice but to find areas to slide. I just got my license back, after not having it for 7 years. (I'm 27 now) I haven't lost my love for the tunning scene one bit, and can't wait to get my
s13 out. But, since we don't have a track, i'm going to have to resort to industrial areas, like everyone else. We have no choice. If you have a track, that you can go to, that's a different story. We don't. Sucks.

You could 'resort' to not doing it at all. While I've done my share of dumb shit on public roads and in confined parking lots in the past, I finally grew up and realized that no matter how bad you want to act like a fucktard, the penalties and price aren't worth it, plus you're always that one jackoff that everyone with any sense talks shit about. You have a choice, in your case though you just choose not to obey the law. I hope that anyone driving cocky or practicing their ghey ass drifting skills anywhere except where it's legal to do so gets all they deserve and more.

But seriously, dumbfucks like that give all of us a bad name. Street racing and street drifting is for people that have seen F&F too many times. Sure at a red light I'll go if theres a 94 honda hatch next to me revving his weed eater, but i stop at the speed limit. I dont show off (sure ive done a donut or two away from any chance of getting caught) because i have nothing to prove.
Kinda like the guys with lifted trucks that have never seen dirt. Its small penis syndrome. Having a truck like that, or a riced car like that is their way of compensating. It affects many men.

That's your opinion, and I respect that. But, i'm not going to sit around, and do nothing. I have built my car to drive/drift, and that's what i'm going to do. I only slide in industrial areas, so it has nothing to do with me acting "bad." There is a difference between practicing something you enjoy, and always showboating. If I get caught, i'm more than ready to face the consequences, and even if I wasn't, i'd have no choice. The fact of the matter is, people talk shit. Regardless of what you do, it's human nature. So, it doesn't matter if they talk about me, acting stupid, drifiting, breaking the law, etc. People will always talk. If you have a 240, and you don't drift, people talk. Who cares? I sure as hell don't. How can you compare rape to drifting? You are comparing a heinous crime, to a moving violation. That's kind of far off, don't you think? If I drift and get caught, that's all me. With rape, you are ruining someones life, and scarring them for life. I don't see any weight at all, with your comparison. So, if you are even in my position, you just go ahead and obey the law. Meanwhile, i'm going to be practicing my "ghey ass drifting skills." :drama:

On a more serious note, one of my friends was in a car with his cousin, the retard tried to "drift" a corner going 70mph. Not sure what he was driving, but it wasn't an s-chassis...
result was t-boning a pole at 60+ , my friend taking the full hit. he was in critical condition with several broken ribs and a pair of punctured lungs...he's fine now but still in a good deal of pain a couple months later...

I dunno man..... I am not sayng its cool to try to drift in the middle of the day in busy streets, with other cars driving by(that IS stupid) but.....
Drifting was born in the streets of japan, not the tracks..
, Even the pro drifters in japan, still go to the streets to drift, and yes people crash when they drift, never met a drifter in my entire life that hasn't crashed hard before,
I cant talk shit about someone just because they drifted in the streets, because to me it would be some serious hypocrisim, If you just like 240's and having a fast car, thats ok, but if your a drifter, then thats what you do, they are 2 separate things.
and before someone criticises a drifter for doing what he loves, even if its in the streets(deserted, and at night of course) they should think about what really attracted them to this sport.
I guess that's coming from someone that actually learned about the scene where it was born(japan), and I dont like to see it painted as something different, even here in the US.

there is a difference from street drifting... and retarded drifting, i can see people doing it at 2am in an industrial area(i've done it... and ... sadly i fucked up one of my s13's doing it) but there was noone else around and i lugged it home and thought about what i did... if i saw someone doing that at night i wouldn't give 2 shits... but honestly... what time did this happen? and if i see headlights when i'm messing around, i calm down and drive like a grandma because i would never want to hurt someone else because i fucked up
but you know what they say, "you can't fix stupid"

Ehh...
Best thing to do is invest in a truck and trailer and take it to socal.
A majority of the OG's are on a hiatus. All the tracks/events are shut down for the most part.
But a group that use to hold drift events held one local last week that turned out ok.
So it's looking to be hopefull.
