how can I check for codes on my s15 ecu? I have searched and read and read and there is no diagnostics screw on my ecu or leds. I have taken it out and looked at it and there is no screw on it.
Car is 96 240, with s15 sr.
thanks

Is your computer in fail-safe mode? If so, you're check engine light should be on with the car running and you will have a code...If not then you don't have any codes, if it was wired correctly.
To switch between diagnostic modes you must, put the key in the ignition ON position. Your check engine light should be on constantly. You must then supply a 12v wire to the CHK wire on the ECU pinout (Green/Red wire at pin 23). At this point the light should go off. Wait for two seconds. Then disconnect the 12v wire from the CHK wire.
You then have to count the amount of times the CEL blinks to get the codes.
My advise, wire up a 17pin ODB2 connector and get a consult-2 to scan it.

What makes you think there is a code??

because it was running rich as hell and I think the coolant temp sensor is bad but I wanted to check to see if anything was throwing a code.
