Will fit the 89-94 240SX (S13), and 95-98 240SX (S14)

Definitely one of the best suspension mods for the money at $79.00. I can't see why anyone would spend $150-$250.00 + for aluminum or delrin when in my opinion this concept is so much better. I am going to start stocking them to offer to my customers as well.

The idea behind a subframe spacer is ingenius. Not only do they perform, they are easy to install(comes with instructions), they also maintain a faily nice ride. I have been in cars with aluminum and delrin subframe bushings and the ride can be rather harsh. They also increase the durability and effectiveness of the stock liquid filled subframe bushings because they are compressed and will not allow the entire subframe to smack up against the bushing during regular suspension travel. I was amazed at how much play there is in between these points in question without the subframe spacers.

Here's my experiencs after installing the Subframe spacers:
On my TT the difference is phenomenal. To me a night and day difference. I had just put on my ST swaybars so I was a bit skeptical that I would notice anything but WOW, it was awesome. I immediately noticed that taking off from a dead stop was more responsive as the body weight shift(roll) from front to back just about dissapeared. It completely eliminated any wheel hop. After the street light turned green I applied moderate increasing slowly to semi-heavy pedal. The launch was immediate and I was getting better traction than I ever had.

That's not all I noticed, As I carved through the twisties of Topanga Canyon in LA, The rear end was so much more in control than before. Even with my new ST Sway bars, the back end was a little sloppy (I'm a bit more critical than most) but with the new subframe bushings really tighened her up. The only thing keeping me from going any faster was the occasional traffic as Topanga Canyon is a single lane road.

These are bottom spacers. Very easy to install. You are thinking about the top spacers, like the ones in the Whiteline kit. &nbsp;Bottom only is the most neutral and safe setup. Combinations of upper and lower spacers are used to tune towards cornering or launching. I've been told that the tradeoffs are rather large when tuning with uppers and lowers. I've been told that it can be dangerous if the wrong combination is used. Just installing the lowers is the safe way to go. And it makes a huge difference at that.

Just wanted to chime in here.. &nbsp;I bought these from Toso for $70, and they were well worth the money at that price. &nbsp;On my 92' they did reduce wheel hop, and weight transfer front to back on take-offs, and the ass is a bit more planted in the corners, especially when accelerating. &nbsp;Definately recommened. &nbsp;Excellent mod for the money.

Its not any more dangerous to use upper and lower spacers as it is to use coilovers. If they are tuned wrong, they will give you bad results. Keep in mind, I have never gotten a chance to play with the setup. I've alway used only the lower spacers. This is what I've heard from people I trust though. The spacers can change the geometry of the subframe. Using only lower spacers is the most neutral setup and there are no real handling tradeoffs. When you start to use upper spacers you are starting to make more specific changes to the geometry, not just preloading it. If you alter the geometry to get better launching capabilities, you will lose some of your cornering. I cant give you a quantitative amount. But I've been told that it can be very substantial. The same goes if you setup for cornering, you'll lose launch abilities. I have heard that the Whiteline setup comes with a chart that describes all of the combinations. I would kill to get a copy of it. I'd like to learn a bit more too. The simple truth is that 98% of people out there will just bolt them up once and forget about them. Tuning with the uppers is for that 2% that are willing to get under their cars and change them for different driving conditions. I'd like to repeat one thing though. The spacers in and of themselves are not dangerous at all. Its how you tune them, just like every other part. Hope that helps.

Hehe, guess I forgot to mention that Greg's spacers dont need to be tuned. Just a bolt on that you leave alone. I am happy to see that more of the S-chassis guys are getting in on this. I currently only have this style made up for right now. These sets will fit s13,s14, 300zx Z32s, and possibly Q45s(still waiting for conformation) Apparrently a lot of the nissan set ups are fairly similar and the only way to know for sure is to see if they will fit on other Nissans.

I can have another style designed and produced but I will need to see if there is a market for me to R&D and go into production.

I currently only have this style made up for right now. These sets will fit s13,s14, 300zx Z32s, and possibly Q45s(still waiting for conformation) Apparrently a lot of the nissan set ups are fairly similar and the only way to know for sure is to see if they will fit on other Nissans.

received spacers yesterday and installed last night. The difference is very noticeable. wheel hop almost eliminated. I'm also able to regain control much easier if I break the backend loose.

A little update: i've installed my spacers, and unfortunately for me, it took a little longer (and was more of a pain) than I'd expected. In just over 2 1/2 hours, I finally got the car back together.

Firstly the original bolts holding the bushings in place were mostly seized, and required insane amounts of force + the use of a breaker bar to free up... on the driver's side I ran into problems w/ the exhaust system getting in the way, and had eventually to remove the rear driver's wheel to get the breaker bar in there... only to find (after inserting the spacer) that there was some force being exerted on that side, requiring me to compress the bushing/spacer combo in order to screw the bolt back on.
With only one pair of hands and a few hand tools, it took a whileeeee and many sore muscles to compress to the point that the bolt's threads would catch.

I was also a little hesitant about my RMS13s bolts being different from those pictured in the instruction (which I assume to be either an S14 or Z32 subframe).

Finally getting a chance to put the car to the test... all I reallly realized was increased road noise and louder gear-shifts with a marginally tighter rear-end. For some reason, it looks like these spacers have actually 'lowered' my car (out back) -- weird.

That said, I didn't really know what to expect (in terms of quantifiable feedback) and am, I suppose, impressed nonetheless. This is my first modification to the 240 other than tires and replacing my damaged fender/headlight ass'y.

i talked to some guys in japan about the spacers, they said you won't notice that much of a difference on the lower spacers alone, and that typically you'd do both upper and lower... I mentioned that someone said the upper ones were "dangerous", to which I was promptly laughed at, and told by several people taht the only way it could be dangerous would be if you didn't torque down the bolts *shrug*, just FYI guys.

I think you misunderstood. Coilovers can be dangerous. Boost controllers can be dangerous. Its in the tuning and setup. Installing just the lower spacers is the most neutral setup. Using different combinations of upper and lower spacers will tune the geometry of the subframe. Tuning for one will take from the other. Kinda like boost, more boost = more power, more lag, less boost = less power, less lag. The differences can be extreme. While its no big deal to dial in a different boost level, or stiffen your coilovers, most people will not get under their car and swap those spacers around very often. For those that will, it will work out great. As far as not noticing the lower spacers... everyone that I have talked to who has installed the spacers and actually pushes their car, has felt a difference. Most have been blown away.

... and unfortunately I have _not_ ... It is probably the fact that I'm on stock (read: blown/dead/shot) shocks, but the car still hops like a jackrabbit when pushed hard in the turns. It actually feels like I'm about to BREAK something when it hops, too.

Whether or not I'll take them out then reinstall them when I've got my coilovers on (to see if they really made any difference at all) is questionable though, I don't like the sound of going through all the trouble again just to 'feel the difference'.

I dont know how it feels running the spacers with stock suspension, BUT, I definately felt a BIG difference on my car. &nbsp;Maybe because I have suspension? &nbsp;I dont know. &nbsp;Im sure after you get your coilover setup, it should feel way better.
I was also told from a friend in Japan not to run the upper spacer, only because it becomes too rigid and may open up the seams in the frame. &nbsp;He said running the lower ones are fine though...thats why I bought them from Charles! &nbsp;So Im stoked!

hehee, I think this is a double mis-understanding... I was talking about how someone else on here had mentioned they could be dangerous, I really didn't understand how that could be. I can't remember who posted it, but they made it sound as it they were physically dangerous.... ex. handling nitric acid with bare hands is dangerous... that sort of thing.

I didn't see how it could be that way, but i'm not one to tell someone they're full of sh!t when I have no experience, so I posed the idea to people I knew would know, which is why I was laughed at. They just re-enforced my original thoughts.

Just like making any mod, it can be "dangerous" if you're not used to the change, or drive around as if you hadn't changed anything... I've messed with my coils more that the average guy I'm sure <img src="#/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'> on every surface and angle I can find, just to see what it feels like to drive with such a change <img src="#/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

Yeah I think your (adey) suspension is the cause of this. &nbsp;I have AGX with Tokico springs and the change in the car once i put these spacers in was quite noticable. &nbsp; Yes its noiser (I hear they quite down eventually... or maybe you just get used to it) but it's also way stiffer. &nbsp;The most noticable change was when you throw the car side to side, it used to feel a bit sloppy in the back end, now it feels much more direct. &nbsp;I threw them in last Sat and ran a auto-x on Sun and they felt really good even though it was raining and I wasn't throwing the car as hard as I could. &nbsp;Definately a good bang for the buck once your suspension is up to date. &nbsp;The install was quick for me but I have a southern car that hasn't seen the Michigan winter (yet) so everything's pretty easy to get off my car. &nbsp; &nbsp;

&nbsp;Anyway, upgrade your suspension and you won't notice the difference but maybe take them out one day after you have your suspension and try driving around without them. &nbsp;I bet you notice a ton of slop.

I got mine about 3 weeks ago, took me like 20 min to install. And I felt a diff right away, felt more solid.

... and now that I DO have my suspension in, the only difference I can feel is the whole car being stiffer and more composed... well, more composed in the turns. on bumpy roads it gets ugly.
One of these days though, I'll take them out just to see how they feel. =) For the time being, I'm satisfied with them transferring more noise into my cabin, and knowing that since they help everyone else, they must be doing something good for me, too!

Like there is the small one towards the outside of the car, the middle one that the spacer goes over, then the 3rd one I cant get the bracket hole to line up with the hole in the car... &nbsp;<img src="#/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('>

hehe, i had that exact same problem... couldn't get the bolt to thread in the hole, it doesn't line up right maybe only about 1/16-1/8" off... one suggestion you might want to try is take both sides (left and right) off first... you also might want to make sure that the threads in the hole aren't stripped (or crossthreaded), b/c of the numerous unsuccesful attempts, i had to re-tap the hole... after that, went right in... funny thing is that it took almost 30 min. to do that one side, and about 2 minutes for the other... the rear ones went on w/ ease...

what I did was put the Bolt that goes through the space in, and only thread it a little so that the bracket is still loose. &nbsp;Then I put in the rear bolt, again only threaded a little, then the front. &nbsp;Tightened down the front, the rear, then torqued down the big bolt through the spacer. &nbsp;That gave me plennty of room to line everything up.

I don't like the kazama spacers as there is the potential of the upper open collar to damage the stock bushings. On 300zxs, the bushings are liquid filled and they have a potential for tearing the oem bushings and causing them to leak. I'm not sure if the 240sx also have the same liquid filled bushing.

The top collar is suppose to add to the tuning of the suspension but I am not sure how as the top of the subframe is already solid.

It looks as if they made two smaller pieces instead of just one piece to compress and preload the OEM subframe bushing.

Well, did you try sending Charles a email. He was very prompt in responding all my emails. Cool guy. Its USPS ground so they usually do not have tracking numbers.

Anyways, I installed my spacers in 47 min...yes I was timing myself. Luckily I did not run into any major problems like adey or others did. Basic simple install. Nothing complicated. I took pics of the spacers installed, but I do not know how to attach pics on to the thread. I dont have the "browse" feature in my page compostion page. I could just put it as a image..but I dont want to slow the thread up for the 56k'ers.

Went out for a test drive after install...rear end seemed a little bit more stable, less wheel hop, BUT nothing too drastic...but for 65 bucks not bad. I am running FLT A-2's btw.

Depending on color and if I had the spacers in stock, I sent them via Airborne Ground (they provide a tracking number).

Some of the spacers when by USPS because they were dropshipped from my manufacturer to save time. Unfortunately USPS does not provide tracking numbers. This batch went out on Monday the 30th and should take 5-7 days to get to you.

Well I see where you are coming from, but its not like anyone else isn't receive theirs. I mean everyone that ordered from the previous GB got their stuff and so did I. $65 through paypal maybe a lot to you...but many others including myself, have been in much more risky transactions. Im just glad mine fell through. :aw:
