I searched and only found 1 post related in the FAQ that didn't give me all the info i wanted.

Redtop SR20det/ stock t25 and boost/ new bearings and oil pump

I recently installed an auto meter phantom electronic oil pressure gauge. I put the sending unit in a oil sandwich behind my filter reallocator, no leaks.

I was wondering what everyone has for oil pressure numbers, mine seems a bit high but i don't know because i don't know what everyone else is at.

i'm at:
40psi-45psi at a 1k-1,200k idle
65-85 psi at cruising from 2,800k-3,800k
90-100psi at full throttle/ full boost 4k+

so what everone elses oil pressure numbers?

thats pretty high.

how new are the bearings / what oil viscosity.

my redtop would do 65-70 at redline on 15-50 but my S15 would be doing like 100+ if I put 15-50 in it on a cold day.

Well question is whats numbers are you getting at operating temp? Once the car heats up, even with that viscocity, you should be seeing about 1.5 bar to 2 bar (20-28 psi) on idle. After that, you figure about 1 bar for every 1000 rpm after that till about 5000 rpm when it starts leveling off.

get rid of that.

the no. thing (besides early model oil pickup failing) that will overtime wreck your turbo and motor on sr20det with stock oil passages (specifically s13) seems to be too heavy on the oil.

go with a 10w40 max.

5w 30 if your not racing in the desert

in Louisiana it is very hot and humid all year round and it is usually recommended to run a thicker grade oil, hence the 15w-50.

Honestly, I wouldnt worry about it, there aint much to blow on an SR for having your oil pressure too high. Id be more worried about it hitting less than 1 bar....

You didnt block the Bearing Oil passage by putting the bearing in wrong did ya? Sorry gotta ask

no. there are little notches in each bearing and journal that snap in to where it can only be installed the correct way.
