so my engine blew a while ago and basically i NEED to make it live (my only means of transport)so i was able ot pick up a complete DOHC from a 95 240 with full engine harness and ECU
im wondering what are gonna be my big obsticles...
i read the e to de swap how to...but thats from a s13 to s13 engine...im going to s13 to s14 engine...though i knoe the KA's are same...im just wondering is there are any differences from the 95+ KA that i should factor in...
the on big difference i can see is the positioning of the P/S pump, and the canister...
any suggestions of how to switch it over...and will my cluster work, if not...will a 95 cluster fit in my s13 !?!?!?
please guys i need help on this...
money isnt musch of an issue...its just time....i need to get done b4 monday wen i start my new job

WTH are you talking about? Your title says going from SOHC to DOHC. In this ^^^^ post you are saying s13 DOHC to s14 DOHC. Which is it??

You need a dohc tach and a lower intake off a obd1 car.

I just finished that exact swap...

You need to get a S13 DOHC wiring harness, distributor, ECU, gauge cluster, and power steering lines... It will cost you about $300...

Don't use the S14 electronics... It's a lot more work... The sensors on the S13 DOHC and S14 DOHC are the same so everything will plug in..

wut i was sayin was do i need a DOHC s13 wire harness to be able to connect to my s14 ecu

Nikeboy355: i have the distributer, and pump lines...

the gauge can wait for a week or so...from wut ur sayin is i just need a DOHC s13 wire harness... quick question though... does the DOHC s13 harness have to come from a MT, or is the AT and MT harness both same?...or does it matter? keep in mind im doing an engine swap only tranny is 5sp

the lower intake??? is that the part that connect to the headers?? :tweak:

No, because the S14 ECU is designed to work with the S14 distributor (which has an internal coil) as opposed to the S13's distributor (which uses an external coil).

You are WAY better off running the S13 harness with the S13 ECU and dizzy. It's much more of a PITA to use the S14 stuff. You will also need a DOHC cluster and throttle cable no matter what.

Shamless plug: I have the throttle cable and cluster if you need them!

I didn't want to address it since you seem to have a hardon for using S14 electronics, but you're really going uphill backwards in the snow in this by doing so.
Using S13 stuff makes it so VERY simple. I understand that you've got a romtune for 370s, but that's really nothing. It's not worth the extra hassle just for a crap romtune.
