View Full Version : need help rocker arm stopper..

my mechanic just install the Greddy rocker arm stopper,
is it suppost to sound any different? because mine sounds like a GTi-R motor
now its louder sound like valves clapping....

take it back to your mechanic, and who and where did you go to? sounds like you need to find a new mechanic.

I've installed both the Greddy and Tomei rocker arm stoppers and never noticed any change in sound with either set.

i think i figure that by now.. i should of bought it back to my other shop that did my motor swap.. after it was on i revved it a few times 2 rockers came off on the exhaust side..

Estevans shop in LIC, Queens (the one who fcuked everything up)

yea it came off and the shims/guide broke... now i need some more new parts... after this the car is up for sale .... i need to get rid off this headache

He probably put them on with the little arms on the inside of the cams instead of the otside. Post a pic of the head with the V cover off.

I wish i had a twin in jersey/ny.

to find out who knows there stuff back east just go on FA and see who posts.

only problem is everyone seems to be Florida, or VA

their install the right way the arms are on the wall side... ill post a few picture up later 2nite.

dont be nervous i installed mine it was very easy, i dont see how you can fuck that install up The only thing to look out for is the tq specs for the cam caps

So take em out, loosen all cam cap bolts and torque to spec using FSM. Re ass valve cover, start motor and check for the sound. If it is gone, then you are good. Sell the RAS if You redline at stock. It sounds like they dont work anyway.

Or try to put them back in re-torquing to spec and see if it still sounds like solids.
