ok i've read other threads but it really seems like personal preference. HKS or Greddy? or Blitz, or Sard, or TurboXS (but they're kinda ghey). i've watched endless videos on youtube listening to the valve dumps and all of them make me hard. i do like the newly revised HKS, which seems popular among sr owners. but i want to know what all of you think, and videos are appreciated. i kinda like the sard r2d2 but there's no way to recirc that. but i don't necessarily HAVE to recirc. i want to know which one you guys have been mostly satisfied with.

Dont get the HKS, the moving parts are made of plastic, and have a heavy use wear life of 2-3 years. Plus EVERYONE has it, and I can always hear it a mile away. Same little fluttering chirp sound.

You have to get something original. :)

you want a Tial Bov

Yeah, but tial is non adjustable....

Jimmy rig a whazzoo or a whistle so every time you let off it sounds like your at some little kids party. Saw the whazzoo bov done on a turbo civic and it was funny as hell. He did it to make fun of the turbo fan boy kids.

1G DSM BOV or something similar. They're cheap and they work. Tial or Greddy Type-R for big boost applications.

No need to waste money for a silly noise, as is the case with HKS, Sard, ARC, etc.

i have had two greddys, type s and type r, i currently have the type s. both worked great did what they were supposed to do. if its the sound your looking for go with hks or the greddy type s both have very unique sounds.

A guy that I work with uses a greddy knockoff with just a greddy diaphram in it and says it works great just like the real thing and hes pushing 600hp.

thats because you forgot to buy the recirculation kit or remove the insert =)

pull type is the quickest responding BOV if your worried about surge. The HKS does the job of a BOV the best... until the Synchronic comes out on the market.

Buy a decent shape used Blitz DD and pull it apart and clean it up, seal it up etc... and it works great, and (if you care) has the best sound IMHO... it doesn't sound like a bird made a nest under your hood.

i had the tial, HKS ssqv, hks racing type II and the type S... now i have the RS (it was free) but i was running no BOV for a good 11 months.

the rs sounds like a blitz just sharper, ssqv i ran recirced it was nice, and the tial was a hissy sound kinda like the greddy rs. everyone knows the type S

if u want big power just be sure its sealed

HKS seems to be retard proof, get that.

I have PWR its pretty good, kind of wierd to adjust.

greddy type r is a great choice for a racing vehicle.

X2, I run a Blitz DD and has been problem free. I looked into the Sard as well (both have similar sound) but ran into a good deal on my Blitz.

Try the Tial, or even the Greddy RS as that is a small b.o.v and sounds and looks good. Or just go crazy and run an RFL.

haa, is the AIDS one atmospheric?

thanks for all the posting guys, i'm glad all of you took interest in the thread. looks like the winner is the ssqv, and it was the one ones i was leaning toward , and i agree that the high pitched chirp will be silenced when i recirc (I want to recirc because why do we want to lose metered air?... i come from 1.8t v-dubs which used divereter valves, not showoff valves :)

thanks guys!

i recommend the sard r2d2. Not too many people have them. I used to have the blitz DD and the sard sounds very similar but more aggressive. I absolutely hate the HKS ssqv.

Tial is a good choice. Just find the right spring for your setup.

HKS ssqv version 2 I believe. It was when they still had the adjustment option.
The noise is annoying as hell. But you can remove the piece of plastic that makes the whistle noise in 2 minutes. Or don't be a little bitch and recirc. After that it's perfect.

Or even better yet. Man up and run no bov.
