I'm looking for a 240sx for school and to get into drifting. I found a clean one with 200k+ miles on it. I was wondering how much mileage is on your drift cars because i know drifting and road racing puts a lot of stress on the chassis.

I've been in 200k mile s13's that feel way better than have the sub 100k mile ones i've driven.

Mileage isn't the end-all of chassis condition.

my ka had just under 200k when i pulled it out. it ran fine, just burned about a quart of oil between changes. i used to daily my sr, so between events and driving around town it probably has around 70 on it after the last 4 years. i have a different daily driver now, so now my sr gets some R and R between events.

175k

autocrossed monthly, with some spirited driving.

mileage is nothing, its all about how well it was taken care of.

my last coupe had 262,450 miles on a stock KA... i took that one to 5 drift events, and 2 gymkhana events and racked up 10k miles on it right before my friend took it from me and gave me his w/ 220k miles... and so far i have taken this one to 6 drift events 1 gymkhana and 1 auto-x event and racked up 8k miles on it daily driving and driving it to and from willow springs, el toro, and san bernardino...

to sum it up... as long as you maintain them well... they shall treat you well...

my SR had 60,000 miles when i first purchased it 4 years ago... and its still running strong at 100k miles.....

180,000 drove like SHIT. buy yourself an energy suspension bushing kit, or an RS*R bushing kit and replace anything that is rubber with polyurethane, get new struts, or if you can afford, get coils. the car will feel brand new again.

250k+(lost count after HUD). Mine doesn't leak or burn oil (valve cover gasket, rear main, front crank, oil pan, resealed cam sprocket cover). If it matters. I need to do compression test. Oh thats motor and chassis.

You'll end up replacing all the rubber bushings, ball joints and suspension components anyways. Also most guys end up swapping the motor or doing a turbo/rebuild on the stock motor. So like the other guys have said the number of miles on the ride aren't really important, since as your skills progress you'll end up replacing a lot of the wear items anyway. Regardless of the miles, these cars are 15 years old so everything will be starting to oxidize, dry rot, leak and wear out in general. If the body is clean, the price is right, no major rust, straight frame and core support, etc, I say go for it... Even if it has 200k on the clock.

300k+ chassis. Woo.

Odometer replaced and broken so I have no idea what the mileage is now, but the old Odometer had 300k+
