i have a 95 S14 and i just installed an SR20. everything is working great it starts every time, but has a rough idle like its missing but i checked the plugs and replaced them with the proper gap. ive checked the coil packs and their voltage, they are all getting spark. i've checked all the tech forums and i cant find my answer so i thought id ask. thanks for your help

did u check the aicv and the maybe try adjusting the idle screw. Could be a vacuum leak or something too. maybe its your timing?

Id deffinently go with the timing first, but those motors get alot of build up in em so try a simple injector cleaner or some kind of engine detergent like sea foam. goes in throgh the brake booster line, let it sit, start it and watch the crap blow away.

I've heard that you can almost put that stuff in anywhere like where you pour in your oil. True?

several things can cause rough idle

-vacuum leak
-misadjusted timing
-carbon build-up
-hot spots
-misadjusted throttle plate
-misadjusted IAC

its actually more like its missing rather than a rought idle.

Timing First 15 degrees then check for all the hoses and coupler for leaks make sure that the radiator is full, assuming this is a fresh install new fuel pump? fresh gas? probably needs to run a little just seeing as how new swaps have usually been sitting for a while.
