Today i got in my s13 and i pushed the switch down all the way so my window would roll down by itself and when it got to the bottom it kept humming as if it were roilling down and didnt stop. so when i went to roll the window up it made the sound as if it were rolling up bvut it didnt. i have to pull the window out of the door gap and when i hit a bump it goes down a little by itself. i really dont know what to do. has anyone else had this problem? what should i do? i took it to my uncles body shop and he said it might be either the regulator or the motoe. and those cost alot of money. he quoted the motor at 477 dollars and the regulator at 160. any suggestions?

sounds like a bad guide. if you hear humming it's probably not the motor or regulator.

Regulator used is no more than $50, motor about $80. Your uncle is going for the incest tip apparently.

btw what's wrong with you weirdos. the guy asked for advise about the window not your perverted incestuous fantasies. i guess a high post count is more important that sound advice. thanks for reminding me why i don't frequent this forum.

Next time you decide to take the cock out of your mouth and talk shit, know what you are talking about. I just bought these same parts for my Z from ....drum roll please............. AUTOZONE. If they carry parts for my car then I am sure they carry parts for a fucking old ass 240. You may return to rocket polishing now cum wad.

jramosthe1st!:
Reporting the post and whining about your rep does not help you come off any cleaner than the people who happened to have spoken to you in a manner that happened to have been a little more abrasive than your ears were ready for.
Going back at them does nothing to the same ends either.
The fact of the matter, here, is that if dude's uncle was trying to charge him those amounts for THOSE parts, than he was raping him, it is a figure of speech used when someone is being grossly overcharged. I call a 500 and 300% markup, respectively, rape and you're welcome to call it what you want.
To the OP:
Check with AutoZone, NAPA, O'Reilly, Advance or whichever your discount parts shack of choice may be, do that before you go to the $tealer$hip, and if ALL those fail you, stab your uncle in the face repeatedly until he gets his pricing together.

I answered his question. If he's getting ass raped that's his business. Pointing it out doesn't make me a pervert, neither does pointing out that you're about to be ass raped on rep points for trying to be a smart ass and look tough in front of your gay friends.

Yes, whining, here is a DIRECT copy/paste of the post that your attempt at reporting the thread created:
jramosthe1st! (http://www.zilvia.net/f/member.php?u=55623) has reported a post.
Reason:i try to help a guy with his problem and not only do i get verbally attacked but i also get a negative rep point. can someone explain the logic behind this?

... I mean, you were so hurt that you were corrected, and apparently MORE hurt that someone gave you negative rep for it? Sounds like a whiner to me. No worries, we will not miss you

Your problem might be a bad window guide. Sometimes the rollers come off the guides and cause all kinds of problems. If the motor is whirring then it's still working, and even better still if the motor is whirring and your window doesn't move then your first suspect is the guides. In my experience I've never seen a motor fail and still make noise, they just die a silent death.
Did the window roll up speed slowly decline as time went by? Or did you even notice it?
Pull the panel off and give it a good inspection, you might find a roller broken or seized up. If you don't and the guides look good then pull the motor/regulator and do a diagnostic. You should be able to secure the window so it won't move, while you're getting replacement parts. It just won't roll down until you put the new parts in.

thanks i will do that. i didnt notice it getting slower as time went by. i just clicked it to automatically go all the way down and it did but when it hit the bottom the motor kept going. i had to pull the window up with my hands and it slowley goes down with every bump in the road and closing of the door. i have to pull up on the window and push up on the switch. it will sometimes catch when i do that and hold it up but it will still go down eventually. its been tough cause i havnt had anytime to take a closer look at it but i will take the panel off. this is probably a dumb question but is it tough to take the motor out? i have taken my door panel off to do the jdm folding mirror swap annd didnt pay any attention to the window motor and stuff. what should i know before digging into my window stuff?

Nah it's easy. I did a complete door swap on my old S14 in about an hour. There's only 3-4 screws holding the motor in.

Hey ive got a working motor I can sell you. 10 bucks. Its from the passenger side door, but it should fit. If not disregard this post.
I actually had the same thing happen to my car. Hit the auto switch and it kept going down. the motor was shot. Worse than yours though. It wouldnt even stay up, so i stuck a screw in the gears.
