to engine flush or to not engine flush?

im nearing my next oil change within a couple hundred miles from now, my car just went past 155k miles on my ka24e, and i can hear my lifters sticking. Should i try out an engine flush? ive searched everywhere and all ive seen is that its dangerous to do the high pressure flush, but that is not the route that im going, i was thinking of using the flush that you just let run in your motor for a couple of minutes prior to the oil change.

what do you guys think.. yay or nay?

Its safe but really doesn't do a lot. Make sure you don't go over the predetermined minutes and don't overfill it by even the smallest amount or your engine will be damaged to say the least. You could benefit more from running a higher quality oil filter and oil.

on an engine with that many miles i'd highly advise against any sort of thinning and synthetic oils as well as many additives.

with that many miles your engine could develop leaks and begin to burn oil.

check your oil level... probably low. that, or your oil is really thinned out or you have a fram oil filter....

could try running a 'thicker' oil.

Use a good oil and filter and do some premature changes. Like 1500 miles. Auto RX seemed to do the same thing that running Redline in my car does. But it says to change out after 1500 miles. Making me think what's doing the cleaning is the filter being changed so soon. Not really the Auto-Rx.

He said he had a KA24e, that "infamous" issue is a DE problem...
To the original poster; I don't suggest throwing a bunch of snake oils at your engine as if one will magically fix some unseen problem, I suggest proper maintenance, and the use of a Nissan OEM filter, which is among the best, as well as most cost effective when you go ahead and buy several in advance.

i know of three ways to do what you're talking about.

1.) buy a can of that engine flush shit. it's a silver can with a pop off lid like dog food. dump it in your oil, run your car for a bit, change your oil.
2.) buy a can of seafoam. dump it in your oil, run your car for a bit, change your oil.
3.) buy a bottle of automatic tranny fluid. dump it in your oil, run your car for a bit, change your oil.

1 doesn't seem to do much. 2 and 3 seem to really do their job.

Some of the engine flushed has kerosene in them which are not good for the seals as mentioned above. I did heave a lot of good things about autoRx from www.bobistheoilguy.com forums.
