KA24DE Overheating

My KA24DE has had many leaks and I have fixed all leaks. After I fill up the radiator and and bleed the system the car still overheats. I don't think my head gasket is blown because I'm not shooting out smoke and I changed my oil and it looks fine. I still think there is air bubbles in the system because it still overheats but I see no leaks at all. The problem is, when I unscrew the air release bolt and run the engine, hardly anything comes out of the air release hole and my radiator is topped off full. Also coolant went back into my overflow tank and now its almost full. So what causes coolant to flow back into my overflow tank? Why is there nothing coming out of the air release hole? I'm thinking there might be something wrong with the upper radiator hose?

have u tried filling the radiator up from the neck with the air relieve valve open?
thats what i did, shitload of bubbles comes out...

oh and do that on a slope facing upward or jack the front of the car up

yes i have done that. i jacked the car up as high as i could and with the valve open i was filling the radiator but nothing came out of the air valve. no coolant, no bubbles, nothing... and the radiator just stays full.

did u start the car with the fan on high and turn the temp to hot?

read the FSM, the bleeding process requires that you start the car cold and let it bleed with the bleed screw out until it heats up (there's more to it than that). if you just do it with the engine off, nothing will happen. the bleed screw is the high point in the system, not the radiator cap.

i've always thought it would be easier to fill the car on a slope steep enough that the cap is the high point, though i've never tried it. you'd still have to run it to drive the bubbles to the new high point.

Try replacing your water pump and thermostat. Souds like your getting no flow of coolant through the system.

i have read the fsm and did exactly what it saids. the car was running and the bleed hole was at the highest point.

thats what i thought too but my motor was rebuilt not too long ago and both was replaced at the time. i decided to change them again anyways, so the thermostat and water pump are fine so they aren't the problem

well i just finished bleeding the system for a half hour straight and the car runs good now. but i dont really trust my car so im going to take it to a radiator shop so they can pressure flush the whole system.

feel if you lower hose is hot. thermostat might not be opening or water pump could be done. i'm thinking you got an air bubble right on your thermostat causing it not to open. i had to rebleed my system quite a few times to get all the air out.

Do you people read the whole thread before posting your responses? The water pump and thermo are brand new! Quit suggesting he replaces them.

reading the whole thread takes too long =p. and i said it was air bubbles. i had to rebleed mine twice to get all the air out.
