just wondering if there are any concerns, dangers, warnings... associated with turning the housing? i didn't see any writups on it, and i am thinking about trying it on my t28 turbo to adjust the in/out on the compressor side... anyways, let me know what you guys think...

thanks!

Yes, if you clock the turbo at the wrong angles, things could go terribly haywire.

This reminds me of a guy who needed help with me from this, we clocked the turbo, everything was cool and then it was time for a test fire. We got ready to crank the motor over like any normal post-job fire up and then it happened, like the most horrible thing ever. The turbo enveloped itself and us into a black hole and we saw the beginning and end of time and the secret of life all at the same time. Ill never be the same after that fateful day. So be very careful its serious fucking business.

naw its fine just clock it and be doen with it, just be gentle on the front o-ring under the comp housing and dont over torque the bolts when your tightening back down.

if it's stubborn put it in a vise and gently tap it with a 4 pound hammer, or other heavy object. GENTLY, lol.

you should be fine clocking it. Just make sure you tighten the bolts back up so it doesnt move around when driving.

Oh well. These are the instructions that came with my Garret. I guess i'll follow them. I'm too broke to drink :(

"Relignment of End Housing
A. Loosen the compressor (aluminum) and turbine (cast iron) housing bolts the minimum required to permit the housings to rotate on the center housing. Excessive loosening of the housings will allow contact and possible wheel dmage. Bolts should not have to be loosened more than 1.5 turns.
B. Temporarily Secure turbocharger to the engine Exhaust manifold outlet flange with two bolts.
C. Rotate the centrer housing so that the oil inlet and outlet pads will mate with the engine lines. The oil outlet (largest hole) must be at the bottom with the center line of the hole not more than 35* from vertical. Snugly tighten at least two bolts to lock the center housing to the turbine housing.
D. Rotate the compressor housing until it lines up with the intake manifold or intercooler ducting. Snugly tighten at least two bolts to lock the hosing in place.
E Remove turbocharger from engine and tighten all bolts. Tighten bolts alternately from side to side to prevent cocking of the housing.

Torque Values
Compressor (GT series) 145-165 in-lbs
Turbine (GT series) 185-215 in-lbs"

Hope this helps

damn, that is alot of torque! wow...

hahaha, and i want to knwo the secrets too!!!

so anyways, i decided not to reclock, i am goign to buy the greddy super suction kit? it will match up the s15 turbo very nicely... thought i spent so much on gaskets alone, so i thought 200 for a nice intake will not be too bad...
