Well a quick summary of the past two weeks:
I started having really bad bogging and hesitation. I pulled codes and got 11 & 21. I first removed my MSD and blaster coil, thinking that it was failing, no change. So I proceeded to order a new distributor. Biggest mistake ever. $300 later my car was still bogging and hesitating. I then proceeded to re-read my FSM for diagnostic steps I missed.
Well I found that the power transistor attached to the coil pack is faulty. I'm in the process of sourcing out a used one. But in the meantime....
My question is, has anyone ever disconnected this or run an MSD(or similar) ignition setup without the transistor being hooked up? And if so has there been any ill effects? Will the car even run without it?
