im headed to maui for just a few months and hopefully anyone out there who has hawaii experience could answer a few questions for me.. i live in a mountain-ski town now so i am used to a higher cost of living but is it really that bad there? i know real estate is crazy but what about groceries and clothes cds etc? i have heard the locals (native islanders)can be hostile to mainlanders, is this accurate? is bringing a car over really expensive? i have kids and they are coming so i may have some sort of shipping container for all the stuff theyll need.. ill only be there for a few months but id hate too miss a bunch of drift events.. ill likley just go to spectate, shipping a car there and back would have to cost a grip.. anyway if anyone has any good words for me on the subect of hawaii id be happy to listen, thank you.
