I've searched to see if i was able to get an idea of whats making the noise.. well, last weekend we installed my tubular manifold.. everything was working perfect, no problems. Yesterday i warm up my car at work and drive home. From out of no where, when i spool up my turbo is super loud. Sounds like a bird. When i got home, i checked for problems and noticed that 2 out of the 4 bolts holding the turbo to the manifold came loose!.. so i took them out and replaced with self locking bolts. I tightened then nice and snug. Take it out again, same problem!.. turbo sounds abnormally loud. It sounds like i have an exhaust leak somewhere as well.

Will an exhaust leak make you hear the turbo 10X's louder than normal spool?

do you have the clips that hold the those bolts down?

the one side fell off cuz the bolts backed all the way out.. it must have gotten lost in the process of driving home, but now that i put in self locking bolts, i don't think they will back out at all.

yeah a lot of people lose the little locking clips when they install aftermarket manifolds... just head to a Nissan dealer (or order them from West Covina Nissan or Courtesy Nissan online) and get the locking clamps from a Z32 TT - just throw the nuts on and bend the locking tabs up around the nuts.

It's really the ONLY thing that'll keep those nuts from backing off.

well, those clips aren't what i'm worried about.. i can get one.. its the sound of the turbo thats boggling me.. i don't get why it would sound like a 1000hp turbo drag car. It spools very very loud. seems like i was running no downpipe!

maybe blown turbo outlet gasket, on my t25 one of the studs broke off on the turbo outlet and found out i had a blown gasket. the car was very loud and i used RSR exmag exhaust (really quiet exhaust)

car feel any slower?

u talking about the gasket that goes from the turbo to the elbow? i dunno, i would have to check to see.. but the car boost fine and holds boost. It doesn't feel slower.

well just run the car and look/Feel for the sound while a buddy rev's the engine to pin point the location

Now if its a griding/scraping noise only on spool up / Boosting, then your Turbo's dead
