Recently my redtop SR has been misfiring under boost and lets out numerous backfires. after searching online and troubleshooting i found out that one of my coilpacks had a small crack in it. i wrapped the coilpack in question with electrical tape and went for a test drive. It's been running great for a few days and boosts the normal 7psi at stock boost.

My question is, is it safe to simply leave the coilpack wrapped up like that or should this just be a temporary thing? should i just source a new coilpack?

Thanks

i dont see why it would be dangerous. the only problem i see hapening is the heat melting the adhesive of and the tape falling off maybee. i would just get a new coilpack. ppl sell them on this site pretty cheep. iv seen the go for 20 bucks each used.. its up to you

It cracked because the device overheated. The coiling has gone bad, time to get a new one.

But you know.. .be as ghetto as you want. Its not like you are trying to build a performance car or anything.
