View Full Version : Wheel Fitment - 180SX Bee*R B5 & Work Emotion XD9s

I currently have a 25mm overfender on the front & 30mm rear wide fenders on my 180SX from D-MAX. http://www.dmax-cs.com/fender.html. I currently have a set of JIC Flat A-2's for my suspension.
My plans are to purchase the following wheels from Japan:
Bee*R B5's 18 X 9.5 +25 on all corners(http://www.beer.com/main/parts/wheel/ (http://www.beer.com/main/parts/wheel/) )
-OR-
Work Emotion XD9's Front: 18 X 9 +20 Rear: 18 X 10 +18
( http://www.work-wheels.co.jp/products/wheel_detail.php?id=ITEM&Brand_id=7&Item_id=45 )
Now my question is -- how difficult is it to fit these rims on my 180SX??? I just wanted to get everyone's opinion before I purchase them. I am still waiting for an e-mail from Bee*R Racing and Work Wheels regarding the fitment. I've seen a majority of 180SX/S13 owners fit 17 X 9's on their car but I wanna go with bigger wheels. Opinions on tire sizes are welcome!!!Thanks in advance.

Gene, you DO realize that we have those Bee*Rs on our 180, right? :keke:
Ours are the 18x9.5 +25 size too.
Stock fenders (rolled/pulled) and camber.
Actually we had to run 5mm spacers (or so) in front to clear the coilovers.
I wish the Bee*Rs came in 9.5 +10 or 15 (or less, even). :-/

Thanks for the input guys. Kevin, I'll probably check out your car once I get a chance. And Grant...I'll see you on Sunday!!! We still good for Yokota right? Aite then I'll give you a call.
**I just need to swap my R32 hubs & brakes so I can finally fit the XD9s and the Bee*R rims.
What about tire sizes? Any opinions?
you won't need the overfenders with those offsets and widths I don't think will you?

Grant,
Please disregard my last reply. But how cheap can you get them? I got enough cash to buy a set. I'm still have to sell my CR-Kai's 18" on my R33 Skyline. Let me know if you can get me a good deal. I asked Carrest Zama for a price quote and they gave me around ¥53,500 for two. I was like daaaaammmnnn. Anyways, we can meet up at the gate.
Grant...you can get works for cheap?
like cheaper than aspec?

thats about right
i charge 1250 + shiping to the staes for a set of XD9s
but Since i bought 3 sets of wheels from fuji corp in the last 4 months, they should cut me a deal, they did on the Weds.
we can try there.

That's wassup! I've never heard of Fuji Corp. I usually get my wheels from Carrest Zama since I live down the street from them. So a set should be around $1,000 to $1,100. That's pretty good

with overfenders you're gonna need at least a 20mm spacer to be flushish

Well, the guys at Caddy Inc shop in Japan finally called me back this afternoon. If you check out Work Wheels website you'll see a green 180SX with an ORIGIN Body Kit (+20mm front fender and +50mm rear fender): The owner said that I might not be able to lower the car that much because of the size of the rims. That is why people usually get staggered fitment (17inch front & 18inch rear). Anyways, I will talk to Grant about this on Sunday. Hopefully he can shed some light since he got the XD9's on his car.
I would like to drop the car with them 18's on for a meaner stance. I still want to purchase both sets Bee*R and XD9's before I leave Japan.

I believe they've stop making them.
The manufacture who makes the wheels for Bee-R left , so I was told you can still have a custom set made but they will 2-3x the price of the orginals

Rasty,
mr. mephsophiles has the same wheels on his s13 on stock fenders...
you'll definetly need some spacers.

I was thinking that also. Look at peeps running 18x9.5 +12 Emotions on stock body work. You'll need spacers.

Well I can ask the owner of the shop this weekend. I live 5 mins. away from the Bee*R shop which is located in Kanagawa, Japan. The last time I was there, I was quoted ¥25,000 per wheel which comes to about $220-230 depending on the Yen rate. I'll find out!!!
