Hello,

so i noticed the wall of my rear tires are stripping. Here's a pic of it. I tried searching and asking around but no know what is going on. Everytime i drive, i noticed that it's getting worse. I do not drift or track with these tires. Please help save my tires.

Thank you in advance.

yeah, it looks like it may be meeting something sharp behind the fender....or you have shitty/defective tires

Your sidewalls are rubbing on the edge of your fender.

thanks for the posts everyone. but my tires stick out like 1.5 inch from the fenders. I will try to get some pictures later to show you guys. I'm perplexed as how the tire gets cut when the fender is no where near it. The fronts are the same offset and they dont have this problem; they also stick out from the fender.

The rims are some enkei...i bought it here in zilvia.

Does the tire have a warranty? Possibly faulty?

They are 1.5 inches DEEP into the fender?

What is the size and offset of the wheels?

You're giving us like, bits and pieces of a mystery, thus making it harder for us to solve your problem.

sorry for the vague posts. The tires stick out from the rear fender. so if you were to look at my tires, you'd say i need some over fenders to cover the wheels.

The tire size is 15x7 offset im not too sure (bought it from Yuri and never told me the offset).

roll your fenders! by the looks of it you have yokohama es-100... their sidewall is alittle buff so it can take some scrapes...

but still... roll your fenders! the fronts on 240sx are usually 5mm out more than the rears....

Roll your fenders dude. It's that simple.

You might be able to PM !ZAR! and throw him a little scratch ($$$) and he'll do it for you.

correctoe...just take your time and roll it slowly, the more carefull you are the better it comes out. and a heat gun would help, but if you aint got one just do it in the sun when the metal is nice and hot/warm. the worst that can happen is that the paint might chip at the edge, if that happen's then just get some touch up paint and your straight. you wont really be able to tell.

oh, i forgot to mention. a wood bat is safe and would be best. just dont use some old peice of ish that you know would break even if you swang at a ball.... a tip 4 u: when you roll it, make sure you push down on the bat so that the lip rolls up

newspaper roll. Always had good experience doing it that method. Keeps paint in good condition and gives same effect.

Rolling with a roller is a better idea. If you use a heat gun then it will mitigate the chances of cracking. I can do it for you.

Best bet is a heat gun and a fender roller. Not a bat.

Hahaha. People hear this prehistoric method about this like two days ago. Now they suggest it like it's a known.

The newspaper roll is done after you have rolled the fenders...

Im going to need to get my fenders rolled ( & pulled) pretty soon. Ive seen rollers for about $200. How much of a learning curve goes along with using a roller and should i practice on my girls camry first?

The problems you can run in if you have/use a roller is,

If you don't clean the inside of the fenders and you roll it you could trap rocks in there; only if you're a pure dumbass.

You could pull too much or at the wrong angle from left to right.

Cracking of paint.

Fenders buckling. That's only if you pull.

Don't roll too far or else if you decide to purchase aero of some sort you won't have the tabs to mount them apon.

But if you're ever in the area~

The offset was in the thread that the wheels were for sale in.
http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=148478&highlight=enkei

15x7 +15.

If you have coilovers, the wheels should not rub.
They may rub if you're still running stock suspension or just springs.

From the looks of things, I'm willing to bet that the tire is getting cut on one of the metal flanges that protrude from rear of the inner fender.
If this is the contact point, it can be hammered flat.

I rolled the fenders, but they were 15x7 -15.

Those weren't +15's.

thanks Mel for helping me out. Yeah, the wheel said -15, and im running on Stance. I dunno why the tires protrude. It's all good now, doesnt rub anymore.

Hahaha.

They car will be pretty good once ruca's are tossed on so you could reduce some of the rear camber and it's lowered for better fitment.
(You can never go too low) bwahaha.
