I am still hesitant to sell the car, as I'm sure I'll miss it the second it is gone.. Take a look at this rare 1997 manual 240sx SE. Only 3400 240's were made for here in 97, and it's even harder to find one that was manual from the factory. I test drove several 240's before buying this one, and most were rackety rattley pieces of crap. This car is in very good condition. The whole car still feels very solid, not like it's going to fall apart when I shut the door. I meticulously wash and wax the car regularly. The car is also garaged. It has been detailed, buffed, polished and waxed and you can see the shine and luster of the original paint job. The car does have a few chips and scratches consistent with a used vehicle, but besides that the paint is in great shape, clear coat still strong and shiny.
Now, onto the real reason you are looking at this rear wheel drive beauty. This car has a blacktop 180sx S13 SR20DET swapped in with around 47K miles on it. (There is currently a red valve cover, but the heating fins present on the blacktop and clearly visible in the engine bay photos will show you that this is indeed a blacktop) First thing I did was put in a new AC compressor along with new AC lines, as I live in Texas and AC is a must. I also put in a super hi flow cat, as with the straight pipe the car was a bit too loud for my taste. There are also several important upgrades all over, here is the complete list as far as I can remember:
Walboro 255lph Fuel Pump
Nismo Motor Mounts (2 engine mounts, tranny mount)
Nismo Thermostat
Nismo Clutch Pivot
Koyo Aluminum Racing Radiator
Permacool E-Fan Note: currenty replaced with dual flex-a-lite fans with individual thermostat conrol! Still have the permacool if you want it.
Z32 (300zx) Fuel Filter
Greddy Pulleys (alternator, p/s)
ARP Headstuds
Greddy Rocker Arm Stoppers
Bought Nissan OEM Gasket Kit and replaced all gaskets and seals!!!!
Also changed out for new OEM headgasket, new timing chain tensioner (bulky version), new OEM timing chain, both new timing chain guides and bolts
new OEM oil pump
new OEM water pump
new OEM oil pressure sensor
Modified oil pick up tube
Greddy Oil pan
SS Oil Catch Can
ACT street clutch kit
ORC Flywheel
Eibach Prokit springs. (brand new still in the box KYB AGXs available.
Megan Exhaust Manifold, Dump pipe, Test pipe (exhaust manifold back to stock now)
URAS Type RS Exhaust (full exhaust)
XS Power FMIC Kit with improved custom piping by GS motorsports
Redline Shift boot and E-brake boot
Infinity Speakers front and back
HKS SSQ blow off valve (old style), ARC Blow Off Valve also available
Megan Boost gauge
Just put brand new Kumho ASX tires on about 8k miles ago
Brembo Bradi Rotors Cross Drilled & Slotted (all 4) (6,000 miles)
PBS Metal Master Brake Pads (6,000 miles)
Starting with this I ran compression tests and the results were excellent: 165, 165, 165 and 169! It was time for some upgrades. In went:
GT2871r .64 /ar turbo with 3" inlet.
740cc injectors
Steel braided lines
Custom 3” Intake
Apex'i Power FC for standalone engine management
Power FC Commander
Innovate programmable wideband for tuning
Greddy Spec B Profec II boost controller
I have two boost settings, a low setting with 14 psi, and a hi setting of 18psi, with no signs of any knock. The tuning job done was truly great. Come for a drive and you will see the amazing power! I am around the mid 300's at the wheels but this set up is capable of 400wheel horsepower (you will need bigger cams and perhaps an intake manifold, which was next on my list). Thousands of dollars and endless hours were put into this rare 1997 240sx SE. The result is a quick spooling amazing sleeper that can rip up the tracks yet still take you civilly around town day to day with a measured 26.5 – 27 miles to the gallon. Asking price is $14,500 or best offer.
