is there any turbo out there that i can use with coinjunction with a stock KA without it blowing??i plan on changing the internals after but is it absolutely necessary to get a rebuild??? from what i heard from a nissan tech that owns an s13, he said the stock internals can handle about 275-300hp without a problem.... but thats just what i heard... <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/blush.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

nsport.com makes one specifically for the KA DOHC. i wouldnt run it over 7psi without a rebuild tho. i think f-max makes one too. have about 4g's ready tho.

You can run 3psi safely...7psi after some fuel work, but I wouldn't push it any further than that. The tech may be right about the internals being able to handle 275bhp n/a, but it can't handle 275bhp boosted.

The KA CAN and HAS held ~300+ hp on Stock internals. With GOOD fuel work, and proper planning you could runn 10-14psi on the KA. There are Several Guys on FA doin it right now, most running them around for a year or more that way. It really is ALL about the Fuel management, and proper turbo sizing. If you can stop detonation, the KA is unbelievably strong.
everyone PLEASE STOP telling everyone they have to rebuild the KA to Turbo it. It is simply NOT TRUE.

If you are going to use boost every time you drive, i personally won't go over 8psi. But i prolly will be hitting the max maybe once a day, so i'm going with 10 psi on stock internals.

I can't...my point of the statement was to point out the fact that there is a difference between a boosted engine and a naturally aspirated engine, and the fact that the internals will have a difference in compression levels in the cylinders.

thanks guys for all the help.... but now i got one more question.... what should i do to my fuel management exactly... i have a 300zx fuel rail sitting in my back yard... still almost new... but is there something better..??

Bigger injectors, 300zx fuel pump, and I would send the ecu off to Jim Wolf Technologies to get it remapped. Plan on them having it for like 4-6 weeks I think is what I've heard.
What horsepower range, and at what boost rating are you shooting for? We really need a little more detail to answer these questions....more details = more specs as to what you should need/get.

You should get the 300ZX fuel pump as well.
You should also do some research on individual turbo kits and do some research on fuel management, and see which kit is the best for you with their fuel delivery upgrades and other misc. items. The XS kit includes a Vortech FMU.
Look around at other topics. Currently, there is a topic running for a KA turbo setup list, you should look into it.
