i have a problem , i have a crack in the gas tank about half an inch . i tried using jbweld and fuel tank repair kit and it doesnt work its still leaking .

so im wondering if 95-98 fuel tanks are all the same , and also if the 90-93 fuel tanks are interchangeble with the s14 fuel tanks because s13s are easier to find at a junk yard.

and also if anyone has ever changed out a fuel tank , how much work hourwise is involved. i took it to a shop and they qouted me 10 hours so im wondering how long it took you guys so i can know whether if i can do it myself or not

Fill the tank and then weld it shut.

Kidding.

I don't see how changing out the fuel tank could be 10 hours of work. I've never done it however. :)

take all of fuel out..sand it alittle then put a shit load of jb weld.. don't know how long it will last tho..

takes about 1 hour to change the fuel tank

so better offer just changing it.

WOW. i had the same prob

yes all the 95-98 are the same.

89-94 tanks are DIFF, they are smaller

took me like 4 hours, u got 2 drop the whole rear sub frame. :(. paln on swimming in gas, and the gayest thing bout mine is i did it with a full tank of gas.

i got my tank off a 98 for 50 bucks.

good luck

^ Even with all that neg rep he's right.

The S14 tank sits below the rear seat area, not under the spare tire well like in S13s. The requires dropping the subframe first to gain access. It's a good two hour job with air tools.

All 95-98 tanks are the same, but the hardware is different, 96-98s have an in tank temperature sensor that the 95 does not have.
