Hello everyone. I need some help. I just did swap an S14 blacktop in a 98 240sx. I rewired the car and used the sr harness for the ecm and also for the starter system. I have searched but have nothing. The car cranks over and has fuel but the car does not start. Can anyone please help. Thanks.

check your maf wiring, o2 sensor, vacuums and all of that stuff. Are you giving it gas when you are turning the key? I had to do that for like 15 min before it started up with mine.

Test your ignitor and coilpacks for continuity with a test light. Put the test light on the pins of the Ignitor and turn the key and see if it lights up for each one (you will need another person for this). Even if the coilpacks are wired wrong, they should send a signal and (timing will just be off from what I've heard). When you use the test light, hook it to the positive of the battery because you will be checking for negative pulses. If your ignitor and coilpacks are fine, then I am assuming its your timing (someone correct me if im wrong). Let me know if that works.

Thanks for the reply. I will check that. I was curious, is there any way the i could check if the ignitor is getting power that it needs with a volt meter. I dont have a test light on hand right now. For sure i know that there is no spark and also know that there is fuel being injected to the cyl because while i was checking for sprak i can smell and see the fuel going into the cyl. Another thing as well is that there is a wire with an eyelid at the end. I think the wire is black and its coming off the harness for the starter and alternator. Is that supposed to go to somewhere at the fuse box because is has power when the engine is turning over? Thanks for time guys anything will help. I have been searching but have not found anything yet. I will post with results if any. thanks again

What the hell is wrong with you people asking to do harnesses? Whatever happened to helping people learn things. Isn't that one of the many reasons this forum is here? A lot of people on this forum are lazy sobs, but I will try my best to help.

I've never really used a voltmeter, but I think you can. When I used a test light on my ignitor to see if it was working, I put it on each pin that connected to the coilpacks and checked to see if it lit up when you turned the key. It lit up for a split second. It was kinda hard to see because it was so fast. I am thinking that if you use a voltmeter, you will have the same problem and only see numbers for a sec if you even see them. Easiest thing to do is get a 12v test light and try what I did.

As for the black wire with the eyelid.. I am not sure what you mean by eyelid sorry. I hope you are still using your lower transmission harness from your KA engine for the SR. Check the s13 and s14 FSM for connecting stuff. I don't believe there are any modifications. Plug n play if I can remember
