Sr20det in a 1990 hatch, driveshaft is the 180sx one, the driveshaft mount is from a coupe, seems less level irl but you can kinda tell from the picture that its crooked. is this from the solid motor and transmission mounts/ or normal?

Would it blow your mind to tell you that it's not parallel to the center line ether?

um put on your transmission mount on. I replaced the stock mount with a solid metal one.

His mount is on. You can hardly see it in that pic. I think maybe he needs some spacers between the mount and the tranny.

Here is a pic of his mount, from his other thread.

im not sure that solid mount is such a good idea.... get a peak performance track version mount if you want it real stiff

so the solid aluminum motor mounts and a peak performance track mount for the transmission. Photo of the mounts for refrence, excessive motorsports.

nah, might be from the motor swap? most of the gear oil exited onto the floor from the driveshaft end.

Still need a mount between the Tranny and the Crossmember.

Still need a mount between the Tranny and the Crossmember. hmmm, that would probably explain the driveshaft offset(missing mount) but pretty sure the exsessive crossmembers is the transmission mount also, could be wrong though.

Naw, the Tranny should be like 2-3"s higher.

u sir, are weird.
its a solid trans mount. no middle mount needed. its not a cross member or any such of that order. its a full solid metal tranny mount. no move, no play, loud whining noise while driving. solid.
there are pivot points in driveshafts. almost none are perfectly straight. if u want it straight, get a 1piece shaft. have u tried driving it yet?

It doesn't matter. The tranny is still sitting too low. That carrier will be toast in a few thousand miles.
Pics of the shifter thru the hole in the car?

im thinking the trans mount might be upside down? it should be higher, but i kno people who run that same mount with zero problems

I think you have a bad rear seal. That's EXACTLY how the underside of my car looks right now, cause mine went bad no to long ago, and it sprays gear oil in a mist everywhere, while you drive and coats the underside of the car like that. I'd replace it... it only takes an hour max.

Well, i just bought the car a month ago as a shell, the motor and transmission were installed the other day so the mist must have been from the previous owners sr...

^^^Ahh IC.
Probably a good idea to replace the one in your tranny anyway. They tend to go bad, and it's a super cheap/easy fix.

Your shifter shouldn't be sitting like that... your mounting needs adjusting. The shifter should sit straight up, and lean towards the back of the car slightly.
If you're looking at it from the drivers seat in your car, looking towards the passenger side, it should sit like so: /
