Hi

My setup...SR20, redtop, stock internals, fmic, boosting 12 psi. While at a stop/parked, my car will idle at 870 rpm. While driving normally (little to no boost), my car is fine. But when I'm in high boost, then i immediately drop it to neutral, my rpm will drop to as low as 250 rpm. Sometimes the car will die, sometimes, it will stay running. Something similar will happen when I'm coming to a stop. Then car will go down to about 600, but will come right back up to ~900. Read articles about idling problems and checking TPS, also read about recirculating the BOV will help. I've recirculated, but same effect. I may have to change my idle mixture at the TPS, but not too sure. Can anyone help? Thanks.

That is pretty normal if you have a lightened flywheel. But that is normal and your not really supposed to boost and then throw it into neutral. Not a good thing to do on your motor.

ok, but i think i have the stock flywheel. how can i prevent/minimize this effect?

Clean your mafs and stuff, but just don't rev it up and immediately drop it into neutral, so see no racer do that at all. Down shift and slowly drop down the revs. Its just hell on your internals dropping it down to neutral when at redline.

i understand, and i heel toe all the time, but for some reason, when coming to a stop, it will do this. and i don't intentionally drop from high to low. just found out about it recently. i got the maf from frsport. clean and pretty much perfect. all though i have no more back fire with the recirculated BOV.

AICV? check it for grime and use it to raise your idle?
