I was wondering, why is the the Z32 fuel filter considered an upgrade, is it because it allows a higher flow of fuel through the filter?

huh? the nipples are the same on both sides
how is it allowing more fuel?
and your injectors are not changing.....
think about it...

well if u dont knwo about cars i guess u would think this...

but anyways

its not an 'ugprade'
takes more then fuel filtesr to make power on your car. nice try though.

Cause if you use a fuel filter from the 90s, its usually cloggaloggaed

So when you throw a new fuel filter on there

WHAM

Smoove flow

What aspec said.
It isn't a higher flow, it's smoother flow.

I wanna say think of it like a air filter. But isn't the same in that matter. bleh whatever.

it a upgrade for KA-T's only because its a smoother fuel flow or so I've been told

Plus theyre usually cheaper than 240 filters...

Z32 fuel filters have a larger filtering s.a. so it will not get clogged as easily/quickly over time in comparison to the little 240sx filter. Other than that theres no advantage that I know of, other then "smooth flow" which I think is bullshit because the line remains pressurized with at least 50psig of fuel- so you can't feel it anyways. The notion that a z32 has "smoother flow" than a 240 is retarded, however if you're comparing a new filter to an old/dirty filled filter its smoother, I guess. I use em though.

^ What he said. People seem to think it's an improvement in performance only because the old filter was clogged to fuck and back. No filter at all would see an increase in performance based on that, so would any size filter you can buy as long as it's new. Of course, people are fucking retarded and automatically assume a larger filter will flow more fuel. Kind of like saying you drink faster out of a larger bottle than a smaller one. Same size neck, same amount of flow.

Just has a slightly better ability to actually "filter" the fuel because of a greater filter surface, any performance gain is strictly from the getting rid of the old clogged one not from the Z filter. Nothing more, as mentioned, the system is pressurized so your not going to flow MORE.

Kind of like if you were to dyno a car with old plugs and wires and then put in new spark plugs and a circle earth grounding system and dyno'd it again and got 8 more HP....really you just got back the 8 HP that you were losing from bad wires and plugs....
