I recently purchased a C-West RX7, and before I start making the kit and mess it up liek an idiot I decided to go get some help. And found that link on a forum. The guy has some nice ass cars, these people are nuts, they make thier own kits out of putty and shit liek that. I didin't know the world of modeling was so advanced. But the guy has a custom built Nismo 400R, some more Skylines a Supra Ferraris, Porsches, and RX-7s, all with custom body kits, and sperately bought rims.

After I get the RX7 completed, who knows when I'll find time to do it, this stuff takes more time than I thought. I will end up getting a nice 180SX and some Nismo rims I saw on the internet, unless I can find some typhoons. I'll prolly get a car and SR before I ever do all that though.

You can either try any hobby store, they should have em, but most in the US don't have that many imports. You can try ebay, but if you buy from a guy named Ryluk, expect a long wait, when I bought it from him, thats when I saw people complainging about him on a forum. He takes too long, but I finally got my RX7. There are also some Japanes sites you can get em off of, but somewhat expensive.

They are made out of plastic, usually come unpainted, the ones in the link had custom molding made out of modeling putty or sumin, but that seems very advanced. Painting these things take a lot more time than you think.

Here is some info I saved from a forum:
</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Make sure you sand the car well...removing molding lines etc. Finish off with 1200 grit paper.
Before painting, heat the can up in hot water for 10 minutes so it flows better from the can.
2 Coats of white primer. First coat very light, the second so that it covers the model. Dont be to fussy if it still looks a bit "see-though"
Leave for a week to harden the primmer.

3-4 Coats of finish coat about 5-10 minutes apart....thats it...nice a simple.(keep the can warm)
The first coat is a vey light mist coat...the paint should only just be landing on the car.
Do the same for the second coat
The third coat you can spray a bit more heavy.
The last coat is the one you want to get perfect.
I always spray the front and rear bumpers first...then both sides along the whole length of the car body.
Then the last bit i do is the bonnet/boot and roof last

Dont bother sanding between coats as i dont really see the point...all you are doing is making more dust and removing half the paint you have just stick on.
After you have finished the last coat...leave for 10-12 days.......rub with some compound then finish with a wax.

Or....you can look in the FAQ

http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/index.html They sell them, I think, not sure if they ship to the US, but they show pretty much every model that is out there.

http://www.hlj.com/index.html They also sell them, and have a bunch of rims.

This is the kit I want to get, but won't for a while. There were some nice black Advans with a blue lip, but can't find a pic.

These rims look nice too, but would look better on an R33

http://www.automotiveforums.com/ has a lot of info, but its down right now, so I can't give you a direct link, but you have to go to the Automotive Art Section, then I think the modeling section.

BTW sykikchimp, there is someone on that forum with the exact same avatar as you. Or is it you?
